Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all My 2004 C2 lights are always on, xenon and the parking lights, meaning soon as the key goes in. is there a way so that i have full control over them, via the light switch.I know that i have to turn the car off and remove the key and then they go off, but i park alot on the phone coffee ext...so i hate the lights on Thnaks in advance

POST 2Original post

My '04 C2 lights are controlled by the light switch to the left of the ignition. Perhaps the dealer programmed your car to have daytime running lights on--I'd check with them.

POST 3Original post

AFAIK, daytime running lights are required in Canada, no?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yes daytime running lights are, however like i said its all of them, i will ask the dealer tomorow what can be done

POST 5Original post

blame the gov'ment, I wonder if they would write you a ticket for that if you "fixed" them yourself.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

there is a ticket for everything!! i know i have got them all....... LOL sad but true!!

POST 7Original post

I for one like day time running lights...saved my *** a few times.

POST 8Original post

The Canadian origin 99 I bought worked that way and no one could figure out how to disable them. My 01 came without DRLs so I added them on my own but using only the 5W bulbs in the litronics housing.

POST 9Original post

Since I don't believe that Canadian cars are different than US in any way but the DTRLs, there must be a simple connector or something in the fuse box. I know that was the case with the Canadian 964s...but that was a long time ago.. You might want to check your fuse/connector box diagram

POST 10Original post

The 99 I had did have a difference in the wiring loom behind the relay panel and a complex (internal circuitry) DRL relay. Removing the relay also disabled the litronics full time.

POST 11Original post

My Canadian-origin '01 also has DTR. Dealer said they could change it for me if I want, but I didn't ask how complicated it would be. They made it sound like a fairly simple fix. FWIW, the other two vestiges of Canadian origin are the analog speedo, which is in kilometers, and the in-dash external temp gauge, which shows Celsius. I haven't even thought twice about the analog speedo -- I never look at it. Dealer said they couldn't easily change the external temp gauge. Oddly enough, the dealer was able to switch the AC control to Fahrenheit.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
