I had the PSE installed to my MY2001 Carrera 4 a couple of weeks ago and whilst driving the car today the amber check engine light came on and has stayed on permanently. I have read the manual and this is the emission fault light. Could this be related to fitting the PSE? Advice greatly received as I am concerned about the health of my bank balance!!! Cheers Ollie

Take it to the dealer to find out what's wrong with it, they shouldn't charge too much ($50-100) for letting you know what's wrong with it. I had the same problem and it turned out to be the MAF sensor. How many miles? Mine went out at 28k.

Unless there was something wrong with the PSE install, CEL is usually the MAF sensor. Ocasionally, it can be a faulty cat.

My CEL went on right after a 30k mile service. First fault seemed odd, but the MAF was replaced (my expense). Came on again a few minutes later. Was reset twice. No luck. Ended up being a failed bellows tube. Cost on part was about $20, but the labor was huge - around $150.

Ollie, If your car is an '01, it still should be covered under the factory warranty. Just take it in and it should be repaired free of charge. Good luck.
