Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Dumbass here couldn't figure out it was the cruise control indicator on the dash.
Leading evidence: 'cruise control indicator' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'cruise control indicator' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). Both the CD-220 and CD changer were replaced 2 years ago with new units.

Actually, I use a toothpick and some sewing thread, which works well for me.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Here are some freshly taken pics of my car, so you can get a better idea of the condition of this <3500 mile 4S. The car is listed at $48.5K, but I'll clearly entertain fair and competitive offers well under the asking price - especially from Rennlist members!! The original MSRP was $88.5K, before clearbra, OEM SSK and Evo Shiftlink, and OEM 6-disc changer were installed. Both the CD-220 and CD changer were replaced 2 years ago with new units. The car is new in every respect, and is perfect. If you want the best, lowest mile 2004 4S in the US, and IMO in one of the most beautiful color combinations, let me know.
That really is immaculate. It saddens me to think about how much you'll eventually get for her. Are you sure that's a CDR-220 and not a CDR-23? If so, how is that possible w/ the MOST?
I checked my receipt - you are correct. The unit is the CDR-23, NOT the CDR-220. Thanks for clarifying that!!
As motivated as I am to sell the car, what do people think I can realistically expect from this sale? I've had a soft offer at $42K, but not yet comfortable with the buyer, plus I would like to get around $45K for it. Am I being unrealistic?
I don't think you are unrealistic at $45K at all! If my new job wasn't paying less than half of what my old one paid your car would be mine...seriously! Instead I'm having to buy a 1999 C4 and dream that it is as nice as yours....
Phil, no offense, but those pics are not doing your car justice. I know everyone can see its low miles... but it just isn't "popping" or hitting any emotion. I would suggest spending a little time and driving it somewhere with a nice back ground, get it out of the sun, stand way back and zoom in as far as possible.....or have someone take pics for you who knows how to bring the surfaces to life and add some sex to that bad *** 4S - its impossible to see the wide body too...
(I will remove this pic after you see it - but look, my car has 111k miles on it and I suck at taking pictures)
seriously,
Ed
phil, your car will find the right buyer. if i wasn't being fiscally responsible, i would be that buyer, that way i'd have a "summer" C4S and a "winter" C4. no need to even change tires
i think a reasonable offer, all thing considered, is between $42 and $46k. it's still CPO for 6 more months, which is a huge plus in my book, for those that might think it is a "garage queen".
I'm sad to see it go...who will we pick on?
Seriously, though. I was was starting to count my pennies and would probably have found a way to buy it. I'm glad (I think?) the temptation is gone!
I was waiting to announce it. I have a deposit from a very excited buyer of his first Porsche. Yep, sold it in a week. Rather not disclose the price - clearly less than I wanted for it, but a fair deal all around. And a hell of a nice guy who bought it. Car's headed up to Michigan.
There was no way that car wasn't going to sell. What a great find for the buyer.
Sorry you didn't get full price, but I think in this market you'll do better with that money than having it waste away in the garage.
I ask for only one thing.... the future owner to post odometer photos showing he's driving the pants off it... preferably 3600 miles in the first week.
Before Phil releases the car to the new owner, we need to hide a GPS tracking device on it. Then each week we can track it's whereabouts. It will be like a wild dolphin on a nature show. Catch, tag and release.
I love phil, but sadly I have to agree.
Phil loves driving his Porsche - at least that's what he has told me when we've been out together, but the problem is that his love is fleeting and he forgets once the garage door closes.
In my mind driving a Porsche is like sex addiction - the more that you get, the more that you want.
I drive my car as often as I can because I don't want the next owner to enjoy everything that I've put into the car unless I've had a good time enjoying it myself - sloppy seconds means something.
I read it in the quarterly magazine
Silver Haired Stud
Actually, I use a toothpick and some sewing thread, which works well for me.
But I figured you were probably not as physically “un-endowed” as I am so I figured you probably needed a tongue depressor.
I love it!
I'll have to disagree with one comment though - many say that Porsche owners are not well endowed, so the toothpick and thread should be the more common tools needed for us.
Hi Phil! Will miss you around here. Here's an idea. Please special order a C2S, custom mexico blue, with the 2010 paddle shifters. I will buy it from you in 2013!
Thanks,
Jon
and you can take THAT to the bank
(did you see how many miles his car had
)
Glad you'll be sticking around Phil... - we'll make sure and constantly remind you of the green circle thingy
Exactly! - come on - what's the difference between Phil owning a Porsche that he didn't drive and him not owning a Porsche to drive? The milage will be the same, the sad vroom noises will be the same, the thrill of the wind blowing through Phil's thinning hair will be the same (i.e. not happening).
The only difference is that Phil will now make vroom noises while walking briskly up and down his driveway as he tries to recapture the glory days of being among the Porsche elite.
Poor phil will sit there in the seat of his Audi and let out a sigh and a tear from his right eye as he realizes the love that he didn't return and the beauty that he banished to the Sibera of North America (i.e. Michigan) is now gone.
Oh poor C4S, how he loved you not!
You know, it was on when I drove home from the PPI - took me 20 minutes to figure out how to turn the goddam thing off!
And that, my friend, is why I'm thinking very seriously about getting a motorcycle. My wife had an interesting comment. In the past, she's always told me "any sports car you want, just no motorcycle!" Now, it's different. She says that if I decide to get one, I have to ride without a helmet. That way, no accident - I'm completely well and healthy. But, if I get hit, I'm dead. Period. She says there's no way in hell she will take care of me if I'm brain damaged. It's the truth. Honest. Now, given that scenario, would you buy a bike?? That Audi is looking real good right now.
get the bike..... unless traffic picks up in your driveway you wont ever need to worry about getting hit.....
falling over, well thats another story.... will she bandage up your skinned knees?
