Those are nice, check sunsets price on oem's just so you are comparing apples to apples - I like oem because they are subtle

I don't think you need to "drill holes in the floor pan" to use the velcro disks.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

21 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 9Original post

Hey, you looking at girl cars now? Those are nice, check sunsets price on oem's just so you are comparing apples to apples - I like oem because they are subtle Just my opinion These are really nice, but would be too much in my car

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Siigh, no, not looking at 'those' cars....grin....but here's the question. Sunset has great prices on Boxter floormats, they're the same as ours, no? Regarding the Lloyds, yeah, subtlety is the key...I'd go either with black on black or no embroidery at all.

POST 11Original post

boxster means fronts only - 996 set gets you fronts and rears IIRC - Yea, the flashy red writing it cool, but for my plain jane car it would just look out of place and TOO eye catching

POST 12Original post

One of the first things I did when I bought my car was take out the original floor mats, put them away so they'd be "new" for when I wanted to sell the car, and replaced them with a set of Lloyd's. The Lloyd's have done very well...held up to wear, don't slip, etc.

POST 13Original post

I have a set of Lloyd's Mats and they look great, feel great, even after 5 years. HOWEVER,... I have had this set for about 5 years, and the bayonette snaps on the front mats are worn out and do not hold anymore. Every time I get into the car, they unsnap themselves, and the mats quickly move about the floor. It wasn't a big problem until about 6 months ago. I guess the plastic snaps just got worn out or something. I would prefer the Velcro-style rings on the floor, but am loath to drill holes in the floor pan of my car to install them.

POST 14Original post

Mark, I don't think you need to "drill holes in the floor pan" to use the velcro disks. I have seen some that have a short "cork screw" on them that screw into the carpet to hold them down. However, I can't remember where I saw them.

POST 15Original post

Thanks, Tim. I'll keep an eye open for them. Although putting holes in my carpet will come hard as well. LOL! I wish I could just get new bayonette fittings. Unfortunately, they are sewn onto the straps, so I would then have to figure out how to put on the new ones. I could cut the old ones off without cutting the strap, and then maybe I could find male/female clips at some place like Walmart's camping equipment on some sort of strap thingy. If they do a slide out clip then I could just figure out how to replace them on both parts. PIA unbolting the front seat rails again, though. Always something... I'll work on it soon and report back to all.

POST 16Original post

I put a set of coca mats in mine. Liked the look better than the Lloyd mats. Downside is they are very heavy compared to the originals.

POST 17Original post

Just curious - I am a new 40th anniversary edition owner, and my car has mats with velcro on the bottom - is this how they come OEM or are these aftermarket? Thanks, Steve

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Man, Sunset had the Boxter mats on for 76.00 so I couldn't resist. Thanks for the help guys...My 996 won't be tainted will it?

POST 20Original post

Not if you have them emboidered with Carrera on them..that's what I did. No such thing as a Boxster Carrera.

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Nah, these are OEM plain black but I could see a set of black embroidered Carrera or perhaps a midnight blue to match the car in my future....
