Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

They are being discontinued and replaced with the LM-60, so the prices are great right now.

I never needed them in Texas, and when the Cayenne was my DD I used all-season tires on it.

I have used the Blizzacks for several years with great results.

I used Blizzaks last year on my C2 on 17" wheels and was very happy with them.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know it isn't easy to think about snow here in the middle of an 85-degree August day, but now is the best time to buy them! It will only be about 8 - 10 weeks before I need to put them on.
I ended up buying a set of Blizzak LM-25 snow tires. They are being discontinued and replaced with the LM-60, so the prices are great right now. I put them on a dedicated set of Sport Techno replicas from Italy. They are 8x18 ET50 and 10x18 ET47 sizes, so no spacers are required.
The Sport Techno has always been one of my favorite wheels (we have them on the Cayenne too), and I'm really looking forward to seeing how they look on the C4S. I am also looking forward to seeing how the Blizzaks perform in the snow.
Ed, I'm glad to hear that you like them. I seriously considered the Pirelli Snow Sport 240 N-spec snow tires, but they were twice the price!
I figure that with AWD and PSM, coupled with snow tires, I should be fine in all but the deep snow. On deep snow days, I'll take the Cayenne to work! Fortunately they are pretty good about plowing the roads here.

The reason I'm posting is because I left snow a long time ago. And I don't live in it anymore.... And I'm kinda a jerk. FYI.
I do like the Sport Technos. Lighter or heavier than turbo twists?
I used Blizzaks last year on my C2 on 17" wheels and was very happy with them. Even went to the white mtns skiing several times without any issues. You'll love them on your C4.
I know the Sport Technos are hollow spoke, as opposed to the solid spoke Turbo Look II wheels that I have on now. I'm not sure how much (if any) this saves in weight.
This is actually the first set of true snow tires that I've ever purchased. I never needed them in Texas, and when the Cayenne was my DD I used all-season tires on it.
I have used the Blizzacks for several years with great results.
If the snow is fluffy and deep the 911 just packs it down and you can get over it till you get to the plowed roads. This is a fantastic car in the snow!!
Have been torn. Wanted to get a set of snows for my 996. Then decided that on snow days, I think I'd rather just put a pile of cinder blocks in the back of my Ford Ranger. Then if someone slams into the car--it will be the relatively disposable Ranger, not the 996.
Along with the snow benefit, Blizzaks have a very comfortable ride at low (MN) temperatures. Have to admit I try to leave it in on the days they spread salt . . .
Haha... I lived in Dallas once too... I remember those days...
Wow! It's sooooo cold out today... it's going to be 48!
People here have shorts on still at 48.
Ditto on the tires. BTW - is there an affordable Italiano 17" sno-wheel for the C4??? I'm stuck on the retro hi-sidewall look right now
Actually I think the Sport Techno replicas would look good all the time!
I bought the entire package at
www.wheelenhancement.com
. They are a PCA sponsor, and they were great to deal with. The same deal on tires can be had at
www.tirerack.com
, but they didn't have the wheels I wanted.
I paid $506.00 for all four tires, which is remarkably cheap.
My total, with new wheels, new tires, mounting, balancing, center caps and shipping was $2,076.00.
