My big worry is that I will have a bunch on wax residue stuck to the seam, with a big unsitely line running across the hood.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Howdy everyone, I just got clearbra installed on my wife's new car. I want to know what other people are doing when they wax. I am thinking that I apply wax nice and close to the edge of the clearbra, and carefully remove it without touching that seam. My big worry is that I will have a bunch on wax residue stuck to the seam, with a big unsitely line running across the hood. Do I need to be really careful around that edge?

POST 2Original post

I mask the edge of the clear bra plastic with 3M Painter's tape for delicate surfaces. It's the tape that's light purple in color. As you apply the tape, it's more important that it sticks to the paint and not so much to the clear bra. Apply and remove wax in your typical fashion. When finished, remove the tape by peeling it back, parallel to the surface. This will keep you from pulling up on the tape and the clear bra. If you do get wax residue along the edge of the bra, use Plexus plastic cleaner and polish. http://www.plexusplasticcleaner.com/plexus.html This is the same stuff you should be using to clean and polish the clear bra. Don't use car wax on the bra. If you still have some reside, brush the edge of the bra with a soft, clean tooth brush, being extra careful to not force the reside beneath the edge of the plastic. Cheers,

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Fred, Thanks for the tips. I will pick up some of that tape and get waxing. Johnny
