Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I noticed some oil leaking near the front transfer box on my '99 C4. After closer inspection it appears to be engine oil, not gear oil, brake fluid or PS fluid. It is not obvious to me where it is coming from. Is this possible? Does the engine oil circulate to the front of the car? Is there some plumbing I could check? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

POST 2Original post

I had this happen to me.... engine oil... what makes you sure... and IMO it is NOT engine oil but A/C compressor oil that is dripping down the condensor, across the bottom of your bumper and out near the front transfer box.... I replaced my o'ring for about $1 and a bunch of time on my part... If that is it you should clean between the radiators and condensors while you have it open. post pics and lets see, but I thought mine was motor oil too, so I bet its the same
