Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
and like TV - it's always easy to change the channel if there is something you don't like.
Leading evidence: 'Replace channel if there is something you don't like' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace channel if there is something you don't like' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I registered there a while ago because it looked like it got all the 996TT traffic (when I was looking).
But now I wonder... Seems like every post is from a Honda-esque fanboi looking for a huge carbon fiber wing, turbos the size of your head, or that latest 20" wheels with "big lip". If I hadn't seen it, I'm not sure I would have believed it. Clearly, I'm way too old to own a 996. If only I had a bigger subwoofer...
It's sad, but whatever. Rennlist is not that much better, everybody here's talking about faux carbon fiber this and check out my paint to match center console that.
I have always found 6 speed to be more a of poseur fest. About the only thing I peruse there is the parts for sale area.
Than again, the 997 forums here has been pretty bizarre lately
yea, try the regional tabs, I have had good luck with the Northwest droup. Good guys (and gals) and a much more intimate board, Its not all about cars, but there is quite a bit of "lets do ....... together"
things like Coffee GTG - Lunches - Sushi nights - Kart racing - even Bowling, its just a good group
I definantly like RL for Porsche talk though - the 6 is more "social events" for me
As a mod on both I think both are great forumns. I get to speak personally with members of both daily. The 6's members tend to be mid/late 20's and into their 30's with a bit more willingness to spend. Rennlist's members are older and make more educated and researched decisions. Presumably because they have families to support as well and the income is a bit more spread out.
I enjoy the dynamic both forumns offer, and I get about an equal amount of business from both.
+1 - Excellent assessment and completely consistent with my observations. I find both boards useful, but for different reasons... and like TV - it's always easy to change the channel if there is something you don't like.

Maybe frugal and wise investors?
FWIW, I'm on Renn and 6Speed and they're both OK boards. Different crowds, but still good sources for relevant info, depending on what you're looking for. And since Choi is banned from both, they are both pleasant now - doh!

For 996TT 6speed is
way better
than rennlist (more than 2 posts a day...LOL). For 996 the opposite is true. Ben is still on renntech if you miss him. This is a stupid thread BTW. Way too much generalization. Spend time on the PART of the sites that suits you and move on.
The assessments in this thread are very true from my experience on both boards. 6speed has a younger, more yuppieish crowd that love to make their "rides" "unique". Btw, I am not casting stones, I am 24, just have never been into the whole "tuner" scene.
I have been registered on 6speed for 2 years, never made a post, but I do read their for sale section here and again since they sell a lot of their OEM stuff.
I like renntech for 996 technical, rennlist for the general 996 community
Who is offended? You have to be one or the other? I guess you are better than others...
...
BTW here is a rennlister that thinks they are holier than thou
I like how you take parts of multiple comments and use them to make a point...are you a politician?
My reason...rennlist
996TT
gets about 5 new posts a day...6speed gets 5 new posts every 30 minutes. I consider this DATA to be a significant difference for an internet site which is measured by "hits"(as they all are) hence my conclusion.
I believe it is generalization when you make statements about age/orientation based on your opinion and speculation. (there are a number of excellent technical posts on the 6 fwiw)
OK enough fun for one day...I am a fan of Rennlist and 6speed (and Renntech). I think it is pathetic and childish to make fun of other forums. I have had folks in all three forums help me when I needed it. I have found offensive posts in those forums as well....that is the internet.
Read what you want and stay away from what you don't
...I'm out.
You can try luxury4play.com or teamspeed.com
Some original members of 6speed went and created teamspeed.com for a similar reason as the OP points out -- or so I've heard.
To me, 6-speed is a vendor's forum. Almost every post is from a sponsor trying to sell you on their new wheel line (new wheels! You asked for em, and we made em! Yeah, ok), plenums, software upgrades, reproduction seats, cold air intakes, etc, etc, etc. They have a separate forum within each car forum devoted to vendors, but the sponsors pretty much ignore that forum and still post their wares in every single car forum cause they know it gets more attention than the vendor forums that no one wants to visit cause they are sick of seeing advertisements. LOL. That being said, I do find some of their specialty forums interesting and useful.
i'm a member of the 6 and just joined this place recently, i still love the 6 but this place looked pretty cool and with a little less 'bling'
all forums are different, not necessarily better, just a different crowd of people
Ive met some pretty cool people at the 6.... and they are here as well.... the 996 is getting very affordable, so expect more of the younger crowd (remember Joey Carrera?).
The 6's 6TT forums is one of the best for performance modding IMO... but like anything else, you have to weed out the nonsense... After all, this is the internet.
I'm a member of both. Here seems to have a more mature audience and better technical information. Over there, they have a more active for sale and local group.
Those guys seem less interested in performance/track and more interested in aesthetic mods. To each his own.
