I had to do the same with my car when I installed the RUF RGT bumper (trimmed about 1" from each side.)

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

There is a new Seal Gray Turbo front bumper inthe classifieds. My 2002 C2front cover has a bunch of hairlines cracks in it that you can feel where the front plate is, from what looks like someone backing into it. Hate the "poseur" potential, but if it fits, it may be a better alternative to getting this one refinished.
The Turbo bumper will fit physically as David A said but, in my opinion, without the Turbo or C4S' "integrated" side skirts it would look a bit unbalanced aesthetically. I think the Mk II Aerokit front bumper and matching side skirts would look much better.
I see what you mean, it may look bulkier than the regular cover. I need to see pics of each side by side installed. Maybe I should stop by the dealer and see if he has a turbo there (very unlikely).
Is there no other body parts need to make the swap, ie ductwork, brackets etc. I know that ducting is over the top expensive, and because the openings are different sizes, I thought there may be a lot more plastic needed to duct correctly to the radiators. I'm not too much into exterior ungrades for JUST looks, but I like what is there to be in nice shape. I know for sure that I will put in the clear side markers, they just look way way nicer than amber with grey, and are not too $$. I like the side skirts as they are functional as well, but too pricey for what they are.
I'll be getting some bumper refinishing prices as a reference against a new one. Thanks for the replies.
Anyone have a minty MKII bumper (preferably in seal grey) they want to sell?
I did this job a few years back. Here is the list of parts I bought to make sure everything was installed.
Other than the bumper, grills, and lower lip. I bought
two headlight trim-996 505 741 02
-996 505 742 02
two finder liner extensions- 996 504 124 00
- 996 504 123 00
the air baffle/inlet-996 504 085 00
and some small screws I don't have the part numbers for.
This is all you need, hope it helps. Have you bought the parts yet, because Suncoast has good prices for all of this. I paid 1000 US for a brand new bumper, three grills, and c4s lip. I think the headlight was 15 each and fender liner pieces for around 60 each.
Thanks, great pics! What are the headlight trim pieces and air baffle inlet for? All the others make sense and are exactly what I was looking for! I'll check out Suncoast
Thanks. The 40th bumper left & right grills come painted in GT Silver, unlike the turbo/C4S which are black. Center grill on 40th is black, however. Would be a simple matter to gave them sprayed in body color, methinks.
"one more pic, don't forget when you put the TT bumper on a NB you need to trim around 3" total of the aluminum internal bumper."
WHAT??? You need to trim 3" off the bumper??? I'm not replacing the bumper metal itself,,it's fine..just the cover. What exactly has to be trimmed?
Perry, because of the larger intakes in the Turbo bumper you need to trim about 3" (1-1/2" on both sides) of the bumper bar/foam. I had to do the same with my car when I installed the RUF RGT bumper (trimmed about 1" from each side.)
or... you can remove the brackets behind the side grills (for proper fit of the bumper cover) and paint black the end sides of the aluminum bumper on your car (5" each side) so it won't show thru the grill openings. I don't feel like sawing the front bumper.
