Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace exhaust sound' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace exhaust sound' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Has anyone used software like Autoenginuity to record live data before & after the mod to see if there was anything measurable?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I contacted the company to obtain an orange cap and received a reply that they are available in a mini pak of 200. Since I have no use for 199 of these, does someone have another source?
Thanks
dude, I mentioned on earlier thread, that you should not contact company but one of local distributors. I offered to purchase one, explained why I wanted it, and they sent me one for free.
I'll take one if you buy a bag, but if someone else happens to have an extra lying around, I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands for S&H.
Thanks
Why is there a bypass around the MAF? And what does plugging it do? I checked out the top of the airbox insides and it appears to just be a sealed chamber connected to the bypass tube..sort of a volume chamber, so maybe it is just for sound..the orange cap mod is easy to do with anything, but I wonder that Porsche would go through all that trouble to design the tube and airbox like that for just noise? Anyone know anything more definitive?
LOL..but not really funny....obviously that mod is highly unlikely to cause engine damage...but as an Instrumentation & Controls engineer that has worked a bit on flow studies, it CAN be there to dampen pressure pulses that would upset the MAF with standing waves. Airflow harmonics are strange stuff, and it may be that the MAF signal generated is smoother due to the volume chamber...I've done similar things on pnematics..it's a very real effect. Has anyone used software like Autoenginuity to record live data before & after the mod to see if there was anything measurable? It may not be, but worth asking..
