Hi Guys, Had been on the hunt for my first Porsche the last two months and with some help of some friends and this great site I finally got one a couple of weeks ago. Would have posted sooner but been busy having fun with this lil booger! Last Saturday did one of my must do's in life- driving down CA Hwy 1 from Oxnard to Santa Monica in a 911 Cab with the top down! Picked it up at Merc dealer with a 30 day/1k mi. warranty, with relatively low mileage <40k mi . Didn't want to take any chances so soon after I took it over to McKenna Porsche to have it checked out and to my surprise and delight the car was still under the CPO thru 12/08. They didn't find anything major with it, a slight oil leak on cam cover and the low tone of the horn not working because it was still under the CPO warranty- they fixed it and it saved me a trip and some time back to the Merc dealer. Great and friendly service at McKenna, treated me like I bought the car from them. Anyways so I don't get harrassed , here's a couple of pics: "Yogi Shot" for all you watch guys out there:

Nice car! Love the wheels.......second must do - drive Angeles Crest Highway (Highway 2) from La Canada-Flintridge to Highway 138 .
Nice car, I got my last summer and have been enjoying her all winter (except on snow days)...have fun with yours....life is better TOPLESS!!!!
Congrats on your purchase. Was the Turbo front bumper a factory option on the c4?
Nice car - congratulations. I love the color and the turbo/4S front bumper. (Ahh, I just think back and it was exactly a week ago that I was flying into Louisville to pick mine up). Enjoy!!!
Nice looking cab. You got lucky, the previous owner did a couple of nice mods; TT/C4S bumper and x51 tips. Enjoy it! Stan
Thanks for the nice comments and the recommendation- now on my drive list! Regards, Sherm

McKenna gave me the history on the vehicle and it was not purchased with this option. They did mention that indeed it as a Turbo Front Bumper that was put on, but they did not find anything that would indicate it the car was in accident- it was for cosmetics purposes. Hope that helps! Regards, Sherm

Thanks Stan! Yes, indeed this one stood out of the many I looked at the last two months and the previous owner "babied" the car- the interior is like new. I feel lucky indeed. Have a good weekend! Regards, Sherm
Beautiful car! I personally do not understand why people buy coupes. A cab is like a four wheel motorcycle, without the helmet! congrats and enjoy.

"I personally do not understand why people buy coupes." weight and stability, or they could be a purist
My own brother would never buy a convertible. He lives on the coast and grew up in So Cal. He is a purist and says cabs are too heavy. To me the trade off of running down the coast on a warm day with the top down is the ultimate in a driving experience. I personally do not understand what 50lbs (or whatever a coupe weighs less) is going to do for me. I dont get, but I dont have to. To each his own. Now if I lived in a cold climate, thats another story.

I agree, I knew going into it ( buying my first Porsche) that what I had in mind was the slowest model in the line-up C4 Tip. But I quickly got over it, as I thought to myself what would I be in hurry for on the weekends with the top down enjoying SoCal.....................
very nice car. congrats.
Very nice purchase...makes me want a cab.

You mean like this??? Hopefully sometime in late April.....top down time, again!!!!
I have to agree with the cab choice. The best seat in the house anytime it's above 50 degrees (with heated seats and heater blowing) but below 90 degrees. (although with the AC blowing all on my feet is great) Going topless lets me hear the sweet RPM tunes. Underpasses are great, you hear the exhaust note even better and it's cool to "feel" the heat coming off the over-head concrete. I also will admit the "windstop" is great and I would not have a cab without one now. (even though it does not look to cool) I had a 1996 Mondiale, but I like my 996 cab better. I really like that turbo front end! Congrats
Love it Slakr. Dig the wing as well. Heated seats, strong heater and a ski parka; go topless.

yea i do love watches, but more of a practical watch guy. i have an omega speemaster pro with the sapphire back, rolex GMT2 ceramic, and now a breitling bentley 6.75 with black croc strap. i don't plan on buying any more for a while as i'm happy with the mini-collection. i know the PAMs get a lot of love with the more serious watch collectors as they have a unique style. def easily recognizable for someone who's into watches. i'm into watches, but just came to a point where i've had enough.

i do miss driving a convertible since my s2000. and i can totally see how driving top down lets you enjoy the special flat6 sound all the more. maybe next time.

Ben, nice versatile collection you have there. I love GMT2 Ceramic, picked it up in December and it's the one getting the most wrist time currently. It's the Rolex that brought me back to Rolex. Having only worn larger watches >42mm, I thought the ceramic GMT2 would be too small but as you know it actually wears bigger than it is. Since I picked up the cab, the discretionary fund has shrunk- so no more watches for awhile! Unless of course there's must have Special Edition PAM- Regards, Sherm
