Just picked up the Porsche short shifter from a Porsche test driver today.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just picked up the Porsche short shifter from a Porsche test driver today. Has anyone who has installed on had any problems in cold weather?
Steve, simply go to the B&M website. They have detailed step-by-step instructions for installing the SSK. I followed them when I installed mine 2 years ago and it's a piece of cake. It's around 60 steps (30 each way), but it's quite easy to follow. The Porsche instructions are not very good.
Steve
I agree, my B&M went in without a problem. The hardest part was removing the boot off the OEM shifter, works best if you have a vice to hold it once remoed from the car. It came off like a charm the second time when I eventually replaced it with a T-equipment CF shifter.
Thanks guys - followed the B&M instructions and had it in in an hour.

It sure does not look like $400.00 more than the 997 shifter but it is outstanding! Very short throws and extreamely precise. THIS is the shifter feel I wanted!
Now I have a brand new 997 shifter that I ordered from Suncoast that I never installed. The 997 shifter has the metal plate brace on it like the sport shifter the only difference that I could see was that the blue pivot in the sport shifter stands taller moving the fulcrum point up about a 1/2 of an inch above the shifter frame.
The Porsche Sport Shifter is an entire new shifter - including the frame, bearings, etc. It is not just a replacement of the lever like the shorter shifter kit is.
