Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I bought one and it worked about 1 out of every 5 tries on the valve stem.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had heard that the Craftsman digital from Sears was the best for the buck. ($15 to be exact) I bought one and it worked about 1 out of every 5 tries on the valve stem. (same for multiple cars) Returned and got a 2nd one. Same problem. Returned. Now, what guage should I get? I noticed that my analog guage is reading 1 lb higher than the digital did (when it worked). I want a more accurate digital guage. Any recommendations?

POST 2Original post

My wife got me one of these a while back... So far it seems pretty good. You can find them on Amazon here... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...47159?v=glance Barry

POST 3Original post

I bought a Longacre from OG Racing http://www.ogracing.com/

POST 4Original post

I've had the same one for years, and it works great.

POST 6Original post

...but you have to buy a 3-pack. Just kidding.

POST 7Original post

Yeah, one for the fronts, one for the rears, and one for the spare.

POST 8Original post

All ACCUTIRE digital guages are great. The cheapest one I found was in Target. Under $8 and it provides a tire thread depth gauage.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all the replies. It looks like Accutire is the way to go. I'll check at Target first then Amazon if need-be.

Accu-Gage Dial Gauges Gauges have a full geared, solid brass precision movement with bronze bourdon tube. Unlike piston-plunger-type gauges, the bourdon tube movement is not affected by changes in temperature, humidity or altitude. http://www.accu-gage.com/

I use a Tanner Racing "Air Master". It has .1 pound digital readouts and a handy purge button so you can release air while reading the pressure in the tire. If you track the car and care about stuff like pressure increases, it can keep a history for each tire and a number of other stats as well.
