Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, now it is back to a rebuilt. Is there anything that I should know? Break in is 1000 miles< 4,000 RPM. I guess I will be in the right lane at Sunday's DE.

POST 2Original post

Its 2000 miles according to my owner's manual -- there are several posts about the difference between the recommended break in period for euro cars vs here. Assuming that you have a warranty, I'd try to stay off the rev limiter until at least 2000 miles in case there are any problems. The dealer can read how often/long you redline the car, and may give you a hard time if you have an issue with the new motor and redlined it before the break-in period. I followed the appropriate procedure and took my car back after 3000 miles on the new motor. They gave me a hard time about redlining it, and said that if I have tracked the car, then it might void my warrany. FWIW.

Thanks for the insight. I am working at the DE this weekend. I am hoping for rain and I can run in the novice group, short shift and ujust practice the line. This will be good for me will force me to CONTROL myself. I usually lap until i get dizzy or have to pee so badly that must leave the track or wet myself. I plan on not going above 4,000.
