Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey folks, haven only driven Porsche all my life I would be interested to know how our cars compare to other sports cars. Namely, to cars such as the Dodge Viper, Corvette. Perhaps there is no comparison or perhaps some of you have driven these cars and find them some what compriable to Porsche. I have read the theoretical comparison.............but I would like to hear from the practical users. Cheers and safe driving.

POST 2Original post

I had one Vette back in 1999 - power was more aggersive than the 996 platform, but handling was it's shortcoming - seating position was pretty good, steering was just ok. the down side was many - no snow tires available for vettes, service was weak, quaity build was nonexisted. The car never provided the driver with any positive type of experince like the 996 does.

POST 3Original post

My brother has a Z06, the difference compared to the 996 is power. The Z06 is fast and does handle well. At the track thou the brakes are the weak link, but it is fast at high speed tracks. The 996 feels more connected to the road and it has a more solid feeling to it. The interior of the vette is cheap looking. As far as the value thou the vette is hard to beat. It has Turbo performance at half the cost, but the precission and quality is not there. I feel the 996 is lighter and more tossable at small tracks. Is the vette that cheap, I think they made big strides when you compare them to the C4 cars. They are solid and do not squeek like they did before. As far as use on the street the vette is a fine car, but it is a little loud on the Z06. I drove regular ones and they are better, probably have more insulation. The 996 is a better overall car, but it does cost $30K more.
