Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. My daily commuter to the office is a 91 Mercedes 300E. 2001 Black/black 996 C2 Tip is my evening car that has been paid off. I have been quite content with the 996 until the new body design 997 was introduced in late 2005. To tell you the truth, I didn't like the new front headlamps that look like a beetle at some angle, but the more aggresive curve on the 997, especially on the rear, grew on me, and I have been lusting after one even since. Driving in Century City yesterday, I saw a three black 997. A blonde hottie was driving a black 997 TT. They all looked bad. What is with these late model P-cars that make the existing 996 owners still want one
My options:
1. Sell the 996 and use the money to get 997 S. Who knows how long it will take to sell a 996 Tip...
2. Keep the recently paid-off 996, and since I can take on a new payment - get a late model Range Rover (still single, so don't need 3 cars yet, but the Rover will compliment my 996)
Anyone had similar dilemma? It would be wonderful if I could have a 997 S and a 2007-2008 Range Rover.
Keep the 6, blow off the pig of a Rover (they suck, had one), take cash from car payment and double down on your mortgage principal. Ok, that's not for everyone but it's my route.
GL with your decisions.......
Even if you did get the 997S and Rover, you'd still want more, no?
I'm a bachelor and own 2 cars: 996 C4S and '99 Jeep Cherokee. Sure, I'd love to have an Escalade on 24s as my daily, but then what is the real value add for the additional cost? It's not like I have anything to prove or sit additional rear ends in the car (e.g. rugrats). The Cherokee is economical, anonymous, and fits a lot of **** due to its boxy quarters. The Porsche more than meets the oooh ahh quota that the Escalade/Rover on chrome will never begin to approach.
Anyways, given you have an MK1 automatic 911, I'd get rid of that ASAP. Anything is going to be better and the 3.8 engine runs strong. I'm also not a fan of the front end on the 997. The bigger the headlights, the more modern it looks in most cases. I am a fan of the rear quarters since the shape of the 997 has been remolded to have some more visual hippage. But then the rear end of my 996 C4S is wider than that of the 997 S so I don't envy it as much as I do the 997 C4S/Turbo/GT3 RS.
Bottom-line, I'd keep the Benz as the daily beater (I assume it's reliable), ditch the torque converter burdened C2, and pick-up the very thing you are lusting over. It's fast, smooth, and has been hit hard by the depreciation stick since they are making more of the 997s than even the 996.
For me, I'm going to skip the 3.8 and go for a 3.6 GT1-based engine (997 GT3) or just wait some more for an F-car all the while continuing the daily driver chores in the Jeep truck.
P.S. Save the Range Rover soccer mom car desires for when you HAVE to (marriage)
P.P.S. Enjoy LA for me - I want to move down there soon
I'd hold off. 996's have already taken the brunt of their depreciation hit, 997's are just getting started. Wait until mid '08. The 3 year lease cars will hit the market as CPO's and the release of the 997 Mk II should drive the Mk I's down some. Or if you really want to see the market level off wait until the 998 has been out for a year or two.
That's right. I'm the one who always tell my friends: You only live once, but also you're only young once. Regardless of height being 6'2" and looking a little odd with the size of the P-cars, I need that 997 S in my garage. Fast approaching big 40 got me started exploring to other cars like BMW M6 and 750 (for business meetings) to go w my age and status in the business world. But those 2/4 door sedans are just so damn boring (exception of an M6, but 6-series are already a dime a dozen in L.A. M6 just doesn't have the Porsche charisma) It was the 10 years of luxurious ride in my Benz that pushed me to get the race cars like the Vette and 996.
I have a feeling you'll fit right in with L.A. life more than WA. Cheers.
i can totally tell how much you love the 911 so hey you got the hardest part down. and i too am big on living life to the fullest and not stressing over mortgage, equity, serious adult stuff like that... but then you gotta not be so fatalistic and think about how you want your lifestyle to be when you do get older and wiser and busier (kids, commitment to wife, her family, etc) as toy cars become less and less of a priority.
M5s, M6s, S63 AMGs... all very nice luxurious cars. but again, a bit pedestrian to have it really tug at your automotive heartstrings. i agree.
sounds like you're on the way up and up... get rid of the 996, and pick up that 997 as it has a lot of life left in it (one of the beauties of the 911 is that they age so well unlike your bimmers, benzos, rovers where you always have to have the latest to feel "in")
P.S. I go to LA often (just this past weekend in fact) and grew up there in my childhood - To Live and Die in L.A. Once you get that 997S, let's meet up at urth and grab some breakfast and some early 20s LA hoochiemommas
If this would be my benchmark, I'd drive a Carrera GT. Why do you need to live at your credit limit? Put the money for the "new payment" aside and invest in something with value. Cars are consumables and honestly, you'll never get ahead of the curve or even rich if you just consume; sorry might sound like a smart *** but I'm just not a fan of living on the nod.
I think you already know what you're gonna do and just want people to substantiate your decision...
GET THE 997!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no brainer.
tw
hwk, with alldue respect, how can you even begin speaking like a financial advisor to this guy when you have no F-ing clue about his asset/income/expense package?
we are on a car forum and he's asking a very simple question. let's focus on the author's question here and not veer off into some very personal path called $$$$$$s and sense.
ha ha live at my limit? whatever gave you that idea, my 91 300E? thanks for your concern. But spending money on a $100K 997 would be only a fraction of a fraction of my income and asset. oh, and believe me, i have enough multi-milion dollar investments than you can ever imagine. i think the people in this forum has their own financial means to afford a car like the P.
Thanks, buddy. FYI For those who don't understand the world of finance, they think paying cash for a car is the only way to show wealth. I can make way more than a double digit return from my real estate development and I earn more in interst income than what banks charge me in financing cost. But then, everybody is entitled to their opinion, and I'm sure you didn't mean any harm with your comments. Cheers!
You are right, I didn't mean any harm with my comments.
However, you may say I don't understand the world of Porsche but finance is my profession since I graduated from business school more than 10 years ago. Financing a car only makes sense if you can get subsidised from a marketing fund of the manufacturer and the interest rate
seems
to be below interbank rates. Other than that it's for "wealthy" people usually nonsense (assuming there is no tax advantage).
In a world where you can borrow money for some basis points above interbank rates, especially if you can guarantee with assets, you don't need car financing if you want to play the gamble of leveraging.
Mixing up risk classes of investments is a usual argument from those who
believe
to understand the world of finance. The car payment is fix. The double digit return of investments in an environment with single digit money market rates not.
But, this is a Porsche board and it's correct that we should better talk about the sexy lines of the 911.
You will be surprised how many people in their own long-term profession miss the big scheme of things. Sounds like you missed something in b-school
Time is money, use the time wisely and get a side-job or something instead of preaching rudimentary-finance to the unwary who might actually believe you make a point. It made me laugh so it wasn't all that bad. Leveraging has never been a gamble for me, it's my game in the world of commercial real estate and investment banking. I have big-shot finance guys like you who think they know it all writing up my deals and begging for deals from me all the time ha ha. You're only young once, go get your Carrera GT and live your life on the edge
The wealthiest people I know don't pay cash for their cars. Why? Because they're farther ahead to pay the interest and not tie up $100k just to drive a car.
ha ha you're decription of the Rovers as an appliance and P-cars as an experience in another post is a classic. Lotsa hotties in Asian clubs here, as you probably know already
Yes, yes but don't assume I only date azn girls (was at the Velvet Room on Saturday nite and yes, my friends are beautiful).
I like them ****-asians too. And them latinas. And the milk chocolates. LA, HI, Barcelona, Rome, there's no shortage of them. So long as they're in their mid to early 20s I'm cool.
Jay Z - Girls, girls, girls
Check out an F-car while you're at it.
You sound like a banker during the new economy bubble: "old economy rules are not working for the new economy". They all woke up one day. I fear that you are the one who misses the most basic rule of financial markets: There's only one risk free interest rate. Your "game in the world of commercial real estate" has very limited to do with this risk free interest rate but you can be sure that your car payment is based on this risk free interest rate so comparing "low" financing cost behind a car payment and (potential) double digit returns on the real estate market is stupid, nothing else. That's my point; if you want to ignore it and insist that I missed something, just believe in your "free lunch", that's your choice. Btw, I currently don't feel like I need investments in real estate - wonder why?
Wow, another theory from Mr. Wannabe Gordon Gekko who thinks he's on top of the financial world bragging about his precise investment timing.
We know... you can't afford it.
Stop trying to play a tough guy behind the internet picking fights in forums. Typical traits for losers. Bet you're probably a bald guy with a beer belly and a fat ***.
I didn't assume. I'm the one who's been into azn girls lately. Ah, the VR on Normandie. Girls are pretty young there - mostly college crowd. You must be pretty young... late 20's? Typical age group there are 20's and 30's. The curves on them Latinas are the most provocative. Sounds like you got a nice set of your own groupie going there in every city. Nice.
I'm curious. If you've got the cash, why not the Turbo?
For me, I'll either upgrade (later) to the 996 Turbo Coupe or add an EVOMS I/C Supercharger and exhaust to my 996 C4 Cab. But, I don't have the big $$ like some folks here do. Also, I don't live in LA. A regular driver in CO is AWD. Besides, a $12k Hayabusa is probably my next (and only) vehicle that will see sub 12 second 1/4 miles...
More power to you if you do. I love seeing them on the road and at the track (Stock 996TT's only run mid 13 1/4 mile's up here).
In your case the Turbo seems like the obvious choice to me, especially if its not a daily car.
Too bad you're not into Vettes. They are the best speed for the money, IMHO.
yea on friday we hit up the bar at viceroy and that was pretty chill. in october when i was in town, we did les deux and roosevelt. i think next time in town i'll do VR again but opera/area to mix it up some more. i just wanna get a sampling of what LA's got to offer int erms of nitelife because daytime is just always so sunny which leaves a lot of room to do some outdoorsy stuff.
saw a 997c4s w/ factory aerokit on sunset with the multispoke factory gray wheels with silver outer lip which is one of the better looking factory wheels offered on the 997. looked great. if i had this car, i'd slam it on a set of 20" silver work brombachers, add techart sideskirts and call it a day for the next 5 yrs. what an absolutely stunning car that would be.
as for the d!ck measuring contest going on here... keep at it. i don't even read thru it all.
+1
When will we see your Socal turbo cab? A really good friend of mine just turned his 04 turbo cab in for the new one and its nice. can't bring it out until spring though..
If I had more millions than people could even imagine I would not be contemplating between an upgrade or late model Rover.
I also would not be talking crap about my great wealth.
By the way in case anybody is wondering I am hung like a horse.
There is only one practical reason to finance a car, and that's if you're able to write it off. Otherwise, it's a ridiculous waste of money to pay interest charges on a depreciating asset, especially when you realize that they're front end loaded. That's called renting. You know what the richest people I know do? If they can't put a car in a business or write off lease payments, they buy used (unless they're ludicrously rich, and even then not always...). You don't get rich eating the kind of depreciation a luxury car undergoes in its first three years of life.
You're right that they don't tie up $100K in a car. They wait until it's a couple of years old and buy it at half price.
If you're financing a car you love, that's cool, but call it what it is: A recreation expense. Like travel, for example. If it still seems worth it, then enjoy.
I think we're talking different levels of "rich", because what you're describing is what *I* do, and I don't put myself in the same category as the guys I'm thinking of--the ones that don't really have to even worry about buying a $100+k car.
Sure, I don't get hung up on the price of my car. It may not be worth it to someone else, but I'm the only one that's got to be comfortable with it. Some guys have a fishing boat, some guys have a cabin in the woods...I have a Porsche. I think I got the better deal.
Fair distinction. Those guys do exist, no doubt. I was at a party with one the other night who just got his second helicopter and is expecting delivery of his Gulfstream in the spring. That's who I was thinking of when I said 'ludicrously rich'.
But I gotta say, in my work I spend a lot of time wallowing about in demographic data. Guys like you and me don't like to think of ourselves this way, but in the scheme of things we ARE rich. Lucky, and rich.
You know cars aren't everything in life. Did you know that MicroSoft Bill Gates daily driver is 1999 996? Of course, he has a set of other exotic cars in his garage. I had my shares of sports cars, I already had my 996 for 6 years now. My New Year resolution is moving into a larger house with a guest house in the backyard. And I'm talking about So Cal real estate.
Prior to my getting the 996, I thought my next one will be a turbo. But as years go by, Turbo's seem just too much of everything. So I have been eyeing on the C4S which is discreet and not too obviously pretentious with a big Turbo badgo in the rear. Non-P car owners hardly knows the difference between C2 from C4S.
Btw, I had a Vette as you can see from my signature. Dangerously fun car to drive. Got rid of it.
because people dont' know... a c4s is just as pretentious as the turbo - it's all about presentation aka modifications trust me
and as for billy's daily.... not true. maybe in 1999.
get the 997 and shut these guys up already
And your reading comprehension level is below elementary school. Same for those dudes who said +1 b/b. Not just once did you misquoted me, but f ing twice. Go back and re-read what I wrote and quote me correctly if youre capable so you can at redeem yourself instead of looking like a mentally challeged. It looks like the greatest joy of most guys' in this forum is their 996 in their pathetic 2 car garage. There are more to life than P-cars. Go out see the world, instead of spending all your time typing away on an empty screen.
Ha ha. I hear ya. It'll be a while since I come back in here. A new project came up that will tie up my time for the next 2 weeks. Stay outa trouble during the holiday and enjoy L.A. if you're gonna be here again, Ben.
My only brother passed away two years ago at age 46 - unexpected and he was a total health nut. Brought to me the reality to enjoy life while you can - do what you enjoy. I am going to get rid of the DD (Mercedez) and my 996 C4S. I have a 08 997TT ordered (February build) and will drive it every day with a smile on my face!
oops!!! did not mean to bust your fantasy world bubble. I will promptly return to my little garage and hope one day I grow up to be a big stud like you
Hey guys
I just wanted to show you all a little something I picked up last weekend.
No , not just any old beach house, I am talking about Palm beach real estate folks.
By the way, I must say, I too hate being pretentious, this is why I drive a plain old 996.
But I almost have my loan payed off so I was thinking about getting a lamborghini gellardo, porsche GT or F430. What do you guys think?
Yours truly
Super duper filthy rich (don't mean to brag)
why do y'all get so damn personal? this guy asked a simple question. whether he has $1million in the piggy bank or $1, just stick to the 911 question at hand v. getting your panties in a bunch. handle your own business and help spur the guy on toward picking up another 911.
it's what any good rennlist brother would advise.
i think its his panties that's tight. the rest of us are just fine. in fact some of us are making some very wise real estate investments in this down market. Ludwig, i am hoping to get an invite to the house warming party...
Ludwig, that is wonderful.
You know I have never been inside a house before. I just upgraded from supermarket crates to cinder blocks as shelter. I have seen pictures of houses with a "guest house" but have never been allowed inside them heavenly gates.
Please promise you will have the dogs chained up when I am visiting.
Yeah, try coming to the midwest; my '99 C4 is the same as an '08 GT2 as far as the neighbors and the in-laws are concerned.
I don't believe that, either. Bill Gates, while being very generous with his money, has never seemed too shy to drive whatever he wants.
Missing info in business school can be a bitch.
https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/300750-any-finance-majors-lease-expires-in-1-5-years-better-to-purchase-now.html
again, the dude asked a very specific question, but then for anyone tob egin to try and discredit his wealth... who cares?
you making very wise real estate investments... what you want a cookie?
I would love oatmeal or ginger snaps please
Thanks
I wonderif Bill Gates leased his 996 as well? must have, a college educated solid financial move for sure.
If you are so rich, how come you don't spring for Membership in Rennlist??? Probably half the price of a carton of cigarettes or a short snort. Or is your post a joke???
Dipping without a chip
Yes it is all a joke, you would have to look back, but it is probably not worth it
That is really a picture of Donald Trumps house for sale
LOL - I thought it looked like it had been scanned from a magazine
BTW: I'm lurking over here with the water babies perusing owners comments on the 996's since I am secretly coveting from a maintainability and DD/commuting perspective...
mar
I think Rennlist should set up some software that hooks phrases that identify threads like this and color them green...
Phrases like:
"What should I do?"
"Your opinion"
"Who asked you?"
"You don't know me"
"I have more money than you'll ever see"
"I own (insert valuable asset)"
"idiot"
And finally a link to a thread from the OP blowing the doors off of the whole charade.
On an unrelated note does anyone know how I can change my signature to include the car I borrow from my dad. Although I have millions I like to "roll" in my dad's car sometimes. It helps me relate better to you little folks. TIA
We should start a "who is the richest 996 owner?" thread.
I nominate me. I have two ex wives, and I still pay someone else to change my oil. I MUST be the richest.
I'm not but perhaps the OP and other rich guys can change that. Here's my problem:
I currently lease a one year rennlist membership but I'm thinking of upgrading to a two year membership. I'm going to finance the membership, although I could pay cash. Tax implications, you understand.
To give you an idea of my finances, I recently paid off my 6 yr old 996, I used to own a corvette, my dad owns a bmw and, oh yeah I have a benz as my DD that as of last week, is officially older than Christ.
Any suggestions.

Thanks for trying to relate to us little folks.
Just make sure nobody important sees you. If so you must duck down or your business status might be damaged beyond repair.
Yes, you will save a lot of taxes. Here's why. If you finance, you will pay interest charges on the order of 7-10%. You will pay these charges in after tax dollars, of course. Meanwhile, you will put your free cash into investments, which will earn about 8% with a moderate risk profile. This 8% will be taxed as a capital gain. And all the while, your membership that you financed will depreciate, even as the bulk of your payments go to finance charges rather than building equity.
Now, you're thinking to yourself, Bruce, are you mad? I'm paying taxes on my regular income, then spending it on interest charges to acquire a depreciating asset, so that I can put my capital into investments upon which I will be taxed! Crazy? Like a fox. Because, you see, if you keep that up, you will get poorer and poorer until eventually you don't have to pay any taxes at all. See?
Like a fox.
I don't know what it's like down there. Up here, divorce is no-fault, it's 50% of your assets and child support is indexed to income (very easily running to thousands a month). There are two big ways you can get screwed: one is if your spouse didn't work outside the home during the marriage, and the other is if you own a business, in which case valuation and future earnings can become very contentious. It's not pretty. But at least it's not Ireland.
But that's another thread...
So if I follow your advice I can turn my millions into thousands and my thousand into hundreds and my hundreds into food stamps? Sign my broke *** up!!
This will be a tough one, I envy anyone that has a 996 and 2 ex wives, WOW.
Here is my story playaz
I am a business world stud, money is no object, period.
My other car is a 1997 4Runner. No big deal? well it is a "LIMITED" edition, not many like it, I had all the windows tinted, paid cash.
I spared no expense in finding my 996. I financed an international search, no expense spared. Result - Slightly used 2001 996, EXACTLY what I was searching for.
Now, if we need a tie breaker I suggest we go with looks.
I have a set of guns that can't be touched, don't make me put on sleeveless shirt.
Also, as I've mentioned before, I am hung like a horse.
Draw back - It's very hard to get in and out of my 996.
If you paid cash then you're a broke bitch too. Rich people finance. Simple fact. You'll be downgrading to a bicycle soon enough.
On the bright side it looks like you have a built in kickstand for your Schwinn.
Ok. Fine, I will spell it out for you.
I took a cash advance on my multi- platinum visa for the tint job, I am not stupid.
Please don't call me a broke bitch, that hurt.
Can't believe you clowns are still at it. Just dropped in at the 997 to get some info. If you have this much free time, go volunteer your *ss serving food to the homeless. No wonder you are in the 996 forum, not 997.
Hey, mr John or Jim of Dallas/Fort Worth, whatever your name is.... For a guy who used to whine like a girl about this rennlist being full of non-p related topics in 2001, I guess you are now a part of it. What a waste of time... 6 f-ing years. Folks, you will end up like this dude, chained to the rennlist for the rest of your life.
For a guy who can impress the forum w your previous post researching abilities, I wonder why you couldn't apply the same skill in locating a simple thing like a stereo removal kit.
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-forum/15636-radio-removal-tool-where-to-buy.html
That being said, if you want to fill up the pages again, and continue wasting the most valuable commodity the time, you or any internet buddies of yours, we will see who will lose out in the end. Yeah, keep at it for another 10, 20 years. Go at it with your keyboard, platoon of rennlist raiders, while I go enjoy the holidays. Cheers
I do get a chuckle out of the people that advertise someone else's car in their avatar or sig file; if someone really wants to know what my dad drives, feel free to PM me.
Since my local dealership lets me test drive any car they stock, maybe I'll just copy their weekly stock list into all my posts. THAT will impress the ladies!
Feed the homeless are you nuts, I am homeless. I have to stop paying cash for thing and finance them so I can build some wealth. Maybe move up from my refrigerator box.
When you "dropped in at the 997" did you get there in your dad's bmw?
too funny the herd mentality in this place - it's like someone feels they've got a bone to pick then another dude thinks he'll be cool and pick some more and then someone confirms it's been picked which then ends up being a nice elementary school gangsta brawl. WAHAHHAHHA
jjb, like i said several times here already, get the 997 and tell these kids recess is over.
Ben, I think you've made the wrong call on this one. The OP seems to be digging his own hole the others are just cheering him on to dig deeper.
hwk72 made a reasonable assumption (probably based on the wording in the original question and that fact that he lists his daddy's BMW as one of the cars in his sig). It's the OP that turned this into an "I've got more $$ than anybody" type of thread. (He very well may have, but do you really anounce that to a bunch of strangers on the internet???)
Look back to the start of the thread and you'll see that everyone was just trying to be geniuinely helpful.
In fact, hwk72 appologized...
and he got another shot for his efforts....
JJB236, my sincere advice....stop digging....
edit.. Or better still just close the thread.
[QUOTE=JJB236;4909923]Can't believe you clowns are still at it. Just dropped in at the 997 to get some info. If you have this much free time, go volunteer your *ss serving food to the homeless. No wonder you are in the 996 forum, not 997.
I have been trying to figure out what the heck I am doing with these low budget wanabes.
I am donating my 996 to the needy (briliant tax move, take note here)
and buying a 997.
Look out 997 forum, here comes Big Daddy.
By the way JJB, I got some free time on Monday and be glad to drop you off a can of chili and fresh loaf of bread.
This thread is funny.
Financing or not depends upon the situation. My GT3 is financed but my house is not.
The 997 is a great car and a definite evolution of the 996.
All I know is that I wish I could afford to live in a herd. I've got the mentality, just can't gather enough nuts to get the herd. I even tried by financing my dirt. 16 more months baby.
3 more payments and that kit is mine.
In all seriousness if you do a search on me you'll find I have millions of dollars thanks to the internet. And I mean that literally. I go on the internet and pretend to have millions. Ah, its good to be king. FYI my dad has a bmw so stop the hate.
Before the thread closes; I would like to post a pic of a car like his before the 997 upgrade. Note: I am really bad at the search function. Will try to improve next year.
Of course. Have you learned nothing from the OP? If you pay cash clearly you know nothing about money management and are likely slightly more poor than the dirt on the tires of your 996.
And for the love of God please edit your signature to include any car your dad owns/has owned/will own/is thinking about owning/pretends to own. I'd expect you guys with high posts counts to know better.
perhaps you're right, but at the end of the day, both sides have displayed their own set of insecurities here.
insecurity makes the world go 'round and i absolutely love it
Financially savvy people use loans to buy appreciating assets, and pay for depreciating toys with cash. At least that's what my Dad said when he gave me 20 million .....
In case nobody has noticed...I am a member now.
How could a broke bitch ever be able to pay for that?
No worries, no problem gents.
I snuck into my sons room and got the cash I needed.
Now I am rolling with the upper class.
im sorry... i was reading through old threads... i couldnt stop laughing... is JJB still around?
fu@k... i've wasted too much time at work... oh well, ill have to call the lady and say im swamped...
.I don't work on the car period. I have no time. I always wanted to learn to work on cars, but it takes up too much time, even washing it. The warranty on my 996 with 28K miles has expired... Am I gambling by keeping the 996? To those who know how to work on cars is ok, but for me... I don't know. In spite of how reliable Porsches are, is it a bad idea to keep it?
And so the following
Dilemma:
1) Keep my 01 C2 coupe 996 tiptronic 28k miles out-of-warranty then get a BMW 650i. Had 996 for over 5+ years. I own another 4-door sedan DD.
2) Trade in the out-of-warranty 996 to a brand new 2008 black/black 997 C2 S, which will lower the lease payment substantially
3) Trade in the out-of-warranty 996 to a BMW M6
4) Trade in the out-of-warranty 996 to a BMW 650 and save money for 997
Having owned the 996 all these time, I sorta lost the excitement on the 996. Is it just me? I think there was a post on this topic. But... the 997 test drive changed my mind. The new 997 was totally different, but at 6'2", there is still the issue of size no matter how stunning 997 looks. I want a bigger car that will look good on me proportionately. I think I will miss the 911 (996 or 997) once I trade it in for either the 650 or M6. And so thought about keeping the 996, but the darn thing is out of warranty. How reliable is 996? Is it okay to keep it or am I gambling by keeping a out-of-warranty 996? If so, then I am definitely trading it in for 997 or BMW.
Help me decide... 1, 2, 3, or 4?
Weak *** ****, same old song and dance
Make a decision like a big boy or get a woman if you need to be stroked
Get some help to decide
Ahhh.... did I hurt ur feelings this bad to be diggin up old sh*t, big boy? Wow, it's the 996 thug again on the prowl. Get a life, buddy. Get out once in a while and get some fresh air instead of lurking in a forum. I didn't mean to get you all worked up. Keep digging and waste your time. I'm outa here LOL. Already told you to loosen up your panties... tzt tzt. Keep your Cuban cigar, I think you need it more than me. Go enjoy your P-car or your woman, if you have one. I think you need more stroking to get off. Cheers, bud. No hard feeling
Wow...just registered today. Didn't realize all the valuable information I was missing. Reminds me of the old AOL chat rooms back when I was a teenager
