Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

24 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I pick this up on a recent overseas trip at a Porsche Design store. They have an impressive collection of products and craftmanship is solid. I like it better some of my Cartier/LV/Gucci leather goods.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Opinions vary. I like it because I don't like keys chewing up pant pockets.

POST 4Original post

yea i'm a minimalist so i have just a card wallet with a money clip and the only brand name leather goods i sport is a gucci print belt i got at the gucci store near the Spanish Steps and an LV belt i got there.. bling blang. key wise it's just my jeep key, remote fob, porsche key, house key/mail key that's it

POST 5Original post

I also don't like the bulk of a big key chain or carrying too many keys. I'm happy with my small Porsche crest key chain in pewter, but Chao, yours certainly looks more upscale.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I owned a Gucci wallet and will never buy another one. I like their shoes, shirts and suits but their leather goods are inferior. LV's are OK. Its a terrible habit as I am starting to collect them.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It cleans up nice. You can use the size of the car keys for reference.

well no doubt - you're buying into the image/brand so take it for what it is

POST 10Original post

When a forum dedicated to a ten-year old car design has bandwidth to talk about keychains, you know that car must be pretty solid.

You should see the threads on the 944 forums talking about the same thing! Hail Rennlist!

You should buy a Bimmer Key chain for your other key...may an LV...LOL

Porsche Design is not part of Porsche Holdings. Just like not all of the Trump buildings are built by Trump. I like the design because it is a departure from what you see out in the market.

I agree with your comment about too many keys. I carry just my car key with me. Period. My wife and don't even carry a house key, as we always drive in through the garage and then into the house via a door that has a digital touchpad, so no key needed. Should there be a power failure when we come home, one of the roll-up doors has battery backup that's good for 24 hours and 40 up-down cycles. Should the touchpad fail, I have a hidden keysafe outside. Getting into my office requires an electronic card key that I carry in my wallet.

POST 17Original post

I like to keep all my car keys seperate.. no bulk! But I do like the Porsche design stuff, I have a nice leather cigar holder and a lighter and a few other PD trinkets

POST 18Original post

I think the keychain looks very nice also. I hate keys rattling around in my pocket, but I try to keep the numbers of keys I carry (4) to an absolute minimum.

I've always wondered about that... from the Porsche Design website ...

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I stand corrected. I assumed because usually one would see registered trademarks for branding verification: Porsche Lizenz- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG [Porsche Design Group], based in Bietigheim-Bissingen, is a majority-owned subsidiary of Porsche AG. The company’s activities are focused on the business areas Porsche Design, Porsche Design Driver’s Selection and the Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See, Austria.

POST 21Original post

I carry this. It's nice looking, but the ring is too big to fit the whole in the head of the key and has marred the plastic over time. One would think they had thought this out better.

POST 22Original post

I just bought this one to match my Silver GT Key fob.

POST 23Original post

Another point to consider is the notoriously weak ignition lock cylinder in the 996. Hanging extra weight from the key can only hasten the cylinder's demise.

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My favorite keychain not the key wallet. Cannot find them around anymore though. It is heavy...
