Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

We just had our 2nd daugther so I got to spend all day (weeks) with my 1st daughter.I was going to take her to a toystore and she insisted that she ride in "red car" although it was raining outside. I tried to convince her to ride in SUVs but she only got upset. I am not sure what it is but she does like the red car. I do know she likes corners .

POST 2Original post

Congratulations on your new daughter! Glad you're bringing her big sister up right. My 2 1/2 y/o daughter knows how to say "Poor-sha" and she keeps her "Poor-sha Bear" in my car. And now she has her own pedal Boxster! She went with me on her first group run with a bunch of rennlisters, to the German Auto Show on the 12th.

POST 3Original post

My 4 year old daughter makes me open the sunroof and sits in teh back and screams faster - faster!!!!I'm in trouble too! Robert

POST 4Original post

Same here! My 2 year old pitches a fit if she can't ride in the "Poor-sha". Faster dady, faster is all she says. The great thing about this car is it has tremendous performance capabilities but is still practical. You can literally have a blast at the track and then strap the car seat in the back seat and safely transport the kids.

POST 5Original post

Our son is now 15. When he was 2 or so my wife drove a '91 BMW 535i that he called the "black bye" and I drove an '89 M3 that he called the "red bye" - you know, you go "bye-bye" in a car. We always debated whether to take the black bye or the red bye. I should have noticed back then that he loved speed. Oh well... too late.

POST 6Original post

All my three daughters (13, 11, and 7) loved to ride in the 996 with sunroof open and play their music CD's. I love to drive with them in the car except for the music.

POST 7Original post

I have two boys (6, 4) and a baby girl (1.5) The boys love to ride in the blue car. Since my last car was only a 2 seater the 911 is a family car by comparison. Actually I am amazed at just what a useful car it is. I took the 6 year old to a couple of events and, after taking a few shots myself, handed him the digital camera and told his he was the official photographer. Wellhe was in 7th heaven, snapping away at anything in sight. Obviously there were a number of junk pictures in there but there were also some ones that came out very well that I would never have taken usually just a little cropping required. It also gives a great insight into what interests the mind of a 6 year old boy! Try it the next time you are out. Barry

POST 9Original post

Both my kids (8 - 12) love to hand on the weekend in my Targa - we generally drive on the weekend in my Car or my wife's AMG\\\ What's not to love...

POST 10Original post

You guys are starting your little girls young....just be prepared...we grow up to be enthusiasts too!!

POST 11Original post

I have a 6 years old daughter and a 2 year old son... they like the Vroom Vroom. That is what my daughter used to call the car... she has recently switch to calling it the racing car... My son would fight every morning to get in the car and go out for a ride at least around the block... they help with washing the car, giving me tools when I am working on them, etc... It is just awesome to be able to guide them to the right path

POST 12Original post

Heh- my 16 month-old daughter Anna is smitten with the 996! Took her and her 4 year old brother Connor for a few trips. She smiles and dances in her seat as I drive along, and she LOVES having the air from the sunroof blow her hair. Connor is all about riding in the Porsche. Since I'm in my last two weeks at work (found a new, better job) I've been driving Connor to pre-K in the mornings. Long story short- we've had problems with another child in the center and are working with the staff to rectify the issue. Connor's teacher confronted my wife when she picked him up in the afternoon- "seems like we may have a problem with Connor's telling the truth. He says his daddy drives a Porsche and takes him to school sometimes!" To which my wife looks her in the eye and states, "why, yes he does. And the issue is..." My wife said the look on the teacher's face was priceless. Needless to say we're looking at other programs now.

POST 13Original post

Enjoy your kids cus they grow up so fast. Only one of the three is still home. She's 16 and drives an automatic Honda. Thank goodness she not interested in driving a stick.

POST 14Original post

Women can drive sticks...just as well as men. Perhaps if you took some time to show her, she too can enjoy the feel of what it's like to zoom through the gears.

POST 15Original post

Tried to but so far she's not interested. My 21 year old who just graduated from Law school, wants to but she leaves 90 miles away and is busy with her career and therefore no time to visit except on holidays. She however wants Mini Cooper. Great little car.

POST 16Original post

Great story!! I had a similar experience while at the grocery store. I was wearing my Porsche jacket as I had just returned from a driving event and a lady said to me, in a very nasty tone whilst she looked down her nose at me, "Well, I certainly hope you own one!" I just looked at her and said, "No, actually, I own two..." then left her standing there with a smirk on my face as I walked off. The look on her face was classic! Hmph!

POST 17Original post

My wife already owned a car with a stick shift and a sports package when I met her (albeit just a Nissan at that time). Having got that out of the way I taught her to ride a motorcycle (I used to be an instructor in the U.K.) and, until the 3rd kid was born, she used to turn up to things such as Ballet lessons and the Choral Society meetings on a bright red Ducati Monster. That raised a few eyebrows since she was always known as a respectable sort until I met her. Good thing they have not yet seen her skydiving video yet!

POST 18Original post

My girls are already fighting for who is going to get my car when I get a new one.

POST 19Original post

My 21 month old daughter loves my Targa as well. She sits in the back seat with the top down and screams "wooaooaaooaaa" while waiving her hands in the air everytime I hit the throttle or a breeze hits her face. She also waives at people on the streets when we drive down Wisconsin in Georgetown. It is pretty funny, and also interesting to see the reaction of people. I cannot wait to see the looks I will get if I ever attempt to take her and my four month old twin boys out. I just have to make sure that I don't have any more or I will no longer be able to call the Targa my "family car"

POST 20Original post

I grew up in the '50's. My dad would have loved a 911 as a family car....... Every seat is a "window seat" - no arguments. And Dad wouldn't have to pull over to meet out justice. Everybody would have been within slapping range. Too bad we couldn't have afforded one in a million years. Cheers,

POST 21Original post

Matchbox cars are a great thing for training a kid's eye for cars... My 3 year old son can spot Ferrari's (Da-dee! A Maranello!), Porsches, Vettes, etc. He amazes even me sometimes. We were out one time (in the SUV, sorry...) and we saw a C4S Cab. I told him there was a car "just like Daddy's car." Without missing a beat, he said "No!" I asked him "What? Yes, it is." He said "Da-dee, your car doesn't have the red stripe across the back!" ;-)

POST 22Original post

My 6 year old nephew dubbed our 996 cab (PSE equipped, relay hack done) the "Noisy Car"....he loves it

POST 23Original post

Here's the two tykes at Curry's this afternoon for the Porsche vs. BMW horsepower shootout. Anna fell asleep (yes I moved her to a more comfy position) so Connor and I toured the vehicles. Great time!
