Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Should I ask the OPC to carry out tracking / camber check before they fit the tyres ?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mine is about to go in for 2 year service and needs 4 tyres. I'm not unhappy about the wear rates I have experienced. - Rears have lasted 12000, fronts 24000, - I'd describe my driving as 75% gentle 25% 9/10ths but with a degree of mechanical sympathy ! (there's a good mix of percentages and fractions !) My point is this: All four tyres have worn much more signifdicantly on their inside edges. - This is not a band of wear or anything but seems to be a gradual increase in wear from outside to in. On the inside edge the tyres are all just about on the wear limiters, on the outside edge there must be a good 3-4mm left. Is this normal ? Should I ask the OPC to carry out tracking / camber check before they fit the tyres ? Thanks, Adrian

POST 2Original post

My fronts also have worn more on the inside. Maybe its the way the camber is set up? I have an 02 C2 cab. Let me know what the OPC say, I meant to ask them about it last time mine went in, but was so pleased to get it back I forgot!

POST 3Original post

Adrian, Just a suggestion-is it possible to rotate the rears ie so the inner wear is now on the outside? I've done it on a 3 series BM as it had a lot of negative camber on the rear.

POST 4Original post

yes, this is most probably negative camber at work. Neg camber allows the tyres to grip better when cornering hard. If I got 12k out of my rears, I would be more than happy....

POST 5Original post

You are doing better than most. It is about the same I have been experencing on my third new set of rears and second fronts. 99 cab 30k miles.
