I think the normal/sports seat option is an individual thing there both pretty good, if you get the sports seats it's best to get the back of the seats in the body colour...looks real cool ....and sat nav probably the best option for resale.

Suggestion
I live in New York City and have had two C2 cabs (1999 and 2002) and my dealers recommended against the sport suspension for a car that was going to be driven regularly over city roads.
Leading evidence: 'best option' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'best option' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend against the sport suspension' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
I am about to buy a new C2 coupe and have some options questions:
- Sports seats - yes or no? Are they really that much different than stock seats? I have tried both - and they are comfortable, but I don't perceive much of a difference
- Sports suspension - I had a brief drive, but cannot decide if it is OK for urban roads (e.g. DC, NYC).
- Power seats - worth it or not?
Any delivery advice? Or other advice? I plan on getting the M3 film over the front.
Thanks
Sports suspension definately yes..... power seats yes... I think the normal/sports seat option is an individual thing there both pretty good, if you get the sports seats it's best to get the back of the seats in the body colour...looks real cool ....and sat nav probably the best option for resale.
PSM is a must ..I think it's an option with the c2 but don't quote me.
Best of all is the X51 if it's in your budget.

Definite "yes" options:
1. Sport Suspension... best bang for the buck option Porsche offers, would easily cost twice to retrofit.
2. PSM...cheap insurance.
3. Full leather or at least leather seats front and rear.
4. 18" wheels
5. LSD
Maybe options:
1. Sport seats
2. Sport exhaust...listen to it first, most people really like it, but it can be a bit loud at times IMO.
3. Bose
4. X51, very expensive but well worth it if you are going to track the car.
Rigid suspension only if the ride vs performance tradeoff is worth it to you.
Bear in mind, many infrequently-travelled back roads are pretty rough, not ideal for rock-hard suspension, and 911's tend to be prone to rattles that 030 will exaggerate. Still, nice, flat cornering and better feedback than stock, which also aint bad (I've had both, now have 030). Don't be pressured by us 030 snobs, though - get suspension that works for how/where you intend to drive.
IMO, sports seats look better than they work, particularly if you paint the backs in ext color. I thought the "shoulders-pushed-forward" feel of the sports seats would be a problem on a long drive, but took a 2500 mile road trip (mostly back roads) to California in Aug w/ no comfort problems.
Actually, stock seats have more than adequate support for street driving.
If you're the only one who will be driving the car, don't bother w/ power seats. Otherwise, the memory function is nice, but expensive.
I'm w/ DJ on the PSM. Very inobtrusive, but there when you need it. And the Carrera 18's are a bargain, easy to wash, and the lightest wheel offered (must-have's w/ rigid susp). I have 'em.
Full leather is nice, makes the car feel more like what is costs (this really should be standard, IMO). Also, comes at a discount if you order w/ sports seats, because there are no upholstered seat backs to cover w/ cows.
Finally, not impressed w/ Bose. I've had both upgraded systems (hi-fi in my '02 C2, Bose in my '03 C2), and I just don't think it's worth it.
Happy Shopping!

Sport seats depend on your body structure. I am broad chested and would have been very unhappy with sport seats, consequently, I went with stock seats and happy I done so.
Power verses manual seats depends on what you intend to put in the back and how often. Both my wife and I are avid golfers. Although the power seats are nice for fine adjustments while driving, their some what of a pain because their so slow when moving them forward to put our clubs in the back.
Suspension depends on your drving skills. I chose not to get it, mostly because I have confidence in my ability to control my auto. Yet, it wouldn't hurt to have a button to push at some point I guess.
I am totally happy with how my stock P2 sounds at speed. Course, it didn't sound any where near as good as the Formula One car I was driving last Sunday.
Get the Bose system, it's worth the money. I have full leather interior and it's very nice. Although, I think I am going to purchase a console that matches the lapse blue outside. Last but not least, 18" wheels/tires are the ticket... As for X51 config, only if you're going to track your car and then, I'd look harder at a TT .
What about 18inch wheels - Turbo Look II or Carrera?
A dealer told me the Turbo Look were lighter, but more prone to pothole damage - is this true? Are the Turbo look stronger? I will mainly be driving in NYC.
Thanks
My suggestion, just pick something you enjoy and hopefully yours will be unique to the area you're in. I went with 18" sport classics because so many have Turbo Look or Carrera.
I hate driving around and seeing that my car looks like everyone elses with all the same extras... just my weirdness

Speed, My LCD said the same to me here in So CA, unless I was going to track it the majority of time go with stock. The other question you have probably asked yourself is could your LCD be saying that because he has none with sport suspension.

I didn't buy my cars from dealer stock, but ordered them with the options I wanted. Thus, it would have been in the dealers' interests to have me get the sports suspension.
I have to make my choices today, so any final feedback is appreciated. I am going with:
PSM
M30 Sports Suspension
Bose
Heat Seats
Xenon
18inch wheels (have to choose style - Carrera or Turbo Look II - for driving in DC & NY)
Any dealer fitted accessories I should get? How about that engine cover part (not sure of details)?
Finally, any delivery advice?
Winovin,
Great choices. My final $.02 worth:
If you're getting an interior w/ light carpet, get darker deviating carpet/mats. You can care for your new car like a crazed fanatic, but light carpet will still get dirty and stay dirty. Definitely worth the $3hun.
I like the freebie delete-model-designation option, but that's just me.
Happy W8n,
