Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

There is a very annoying and distracting, high pitched, whistling noise from (i think) my left side mirror. It only happens at speeds over 105mph when I can't safely try to locate it. It was not present when I first bought the car, and is extremely annoying when driving with the top down. Has this happened to anybody else? Is there a quick fix? (no, slowing down is NOT a quick fix)

POST 2Original post

Leon: You can always rip out your left side mirror. sorry, seriously, hav'nt had the noise. Peter

POST 3Original post

check the trim around windshield. Also I had my window readjusted to get rid of noise, but it was with hardtop in place. Also check TSB's

POST 4Original post

Does it do it under each of these conditions: Hardtop on, windows up and/or down....Softtop up and/or down, windows up and/or down?

POST 5Original post

I whistle when I drive that fast because I'm so happy

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Don, I have to check it out under the various conditions you described. The weather is so nice here that I have not had to put the top up since winter

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, tried it this morning with the top up: no whistling.
