Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry for posting the same message on this forum as well as the 997 forum. I am think of leasing a previously untitled 996 with about 5k miles. The dealer claims it was "Porsche executive driven" vehicle. The MSRP on it is about 81k and the invoice is about 72k. Given that people are able to get 997s with around 1k miles for less than 70k, what should the "selling" price for this car be. Also, if someone can post how PFS calculates residual and what the current money factor is. Thanks for all your help.

POST 3Original post

Even with additional info, the best I could do is to tell you what the asking price is for similar cars in my area. As for executive driven, I would much rather buy a car from the vast majority of guys who own cars on this forum. I'm certain that they take much better care of their cars rather than some executive who'll be ditching the car after a couple of years. Here are some helpful sites: NADA pricing guide, Kelley Blue Book, and Edmunds.

POST 4Original post

Nine months ago, I bought a used '04 with 6,450 miles on it. Original sticker price was $81,300, I paid $65,200. Cars depreciate 13% to 18% per year, depending on the make. If the car you are interested in is an '04, my estimate is about $61 k without Porsche extended warranty.

POST 5Original post

The problem, IMHO, is that "executive driven" means the executive and any one else he let drive it...the bother-in-law in town for the weekend who volunteers to go out and get more beer and wants to hear it at red line in second gear. Remember they see cars as perk and they will just get another if anything happens to it. I am not saying this is the rule, but it I had to decide between 996 with 5K that was executive driven and 996 with 5K that was properly broken in...I know which I would choose. If nothing else, if it is "executive car" get the Porsche boys to bump the Warranty up by 5K, but if you leasing and not going to buy it doesn't really matter except for the hassle factor. You could go to that lease buy-out web site as starting point to compare what other others are leasing at.

POST 6Original post

"Porsche executive driven" == demo car. where ppl rev. to 6k before the car ever warm up. agree about the car depreciate 13% - 15% per year, so you can figure out how much you want to pay

POST 7Original post

Make sure that the "executive car" was not used as part of the Porsche Driving Experience. These cars come back to the dealers to be sold and were previously untitled.

POST 8Original post

Actually the PDE cars are fine. They are driven on a race track but under very strict parameters. Also they are very well maintained. Agree with above that "exec" means DEMO. A much more dubious situation. Sort of like saying a car is "pre-owned" as opposed to "used" Somewhere around 60k for a nice CPO model is a good price for an 04

POST 9Original post

an example of a couple executive driven cars, but seriously when the car belongs to a factory guy typically their company car is their job and they do take great care of their cars.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

You guys are great. Thanks for all the responses. The car is a 2004. The dealer is asking for 68k without the CPO. The recommendation here to offer around 60k with CPO and maybe 58k without CPO. I plan to lease and do not plant to buy at lease end. Hope to join you guys again after an absence of about 8 years (without a Porsche) soon.

POST 11Original post

CLL ACAB......possible to reduce the size of that sig? My Lord, even with 3mb DSL service the holdup in loading a page you have responded to is b/c of that monster pic. Don't get me wrong, I love that pic, but it's a bit excessive.

POST 12Original post

If you are leasing the car do not waste your money having it certified. If you are going to turn it in with under 50k and in the typical three years there is no advantage for you.The lease will definitely be a great option as the residual is based upon M.S.R.P. I am currently leasing a vehicle which I recieved a $10,000 discount, my lease is dirt cheap. Typically a dealer will be able to purchase a demo for about $5,000 under invoice, also there is trunk money (dealer cash)in some cases to bring purchase price down even more.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mercedesben: Thanks for the response. You are absolutely correct about certification and right on the money with the lease/discount/trunk money. Is it possible for me to e-mail you with some questions on the discount and trunk money as well as details on your lease? I would greatly appreciate it. If you are comfortable talking about it here in the forum that is also fine, it's just that I am not sure if people here are already bored with this thread and do not want me to continue it further with additional questions. Thanks!

Do a search for Preowned cars on Porsche.com ( http://www.porsche.com/usa/pre-owned-vehicles/search/ ) The Jack Daniels dealership near in New Jersey has a 2004 with only 95 miles on it for less than the executive car 68K without negotiation( http://jack-daniels.porschedealer.co...ntoryid=182521 )

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
