Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

After a fair bit of reading on rennlist and a number of discussions with a highly recommended local independent mechanic, I felt much better.

The only item tempting me to change would be a 997.2 S with PDK.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just wanted to get some input from those that have the 2004 911 Anniv. Ed and how they like it. Any pro's or con's or regrets for that matter. I have always like them and have been considering a 997 S but alway looking for the Anniv Ed. too.
Thanks.
Great combo of extra power (esp. above 5,000 RPM), limited slip and sports suspension...plus all the goodies like full leather, painted console, zenons, etc. I will miss mine when it's gone. Good luck.
I have had mine (#0025) for about 6 months now and it is my first Porsche. I am absolutely thrilled with it. I do like the fact that it is a special edition and has some rarely seen options. I am still learning to drive the car so I am not sure that I could give a good driving comparison to the 997s.
I was a little nervous about the much discused 996 problems - RMS and IMS issues. After a fair bit of reading on rennlist and a number of discussions with a highly recommended local independent mechanic, I felt much better.
I have no regrets to speak of. Price difference aside, if choosing between a standard 996 C2 and a 997 standard C2 I probably would have gone with the 997. But when comparing the 40th Anniversary edition to the 997 it came out on top.
The only option that I would have liked to have had is the Porsche Sport Exhaust.
Hope this helps.
Are you selling yours?
I love my 40th. I just bought mine on Feb 1st and I was cross-shopping 993's, 964 Turbo's, 996 Turbo's, 996 C4S's, and 996 40th Anniversary cars. I still want a turbo someday but, for the price they are at right now, you can't beat the value of a 996.
My CPO warranty expires this year and the car is my daily driver. I have a rule that my DD must be under warranty, so I'll move on to a 997.2 C2S or 997.1 GT3 in a few months. Have loved the 40th for 4 years, but it's time for a new thrill.
Thanks for all the input. I have come across a few of these having 21k mi, 11k mi and 13k mi. Two of which are CPO'd. Price range from $43k to $55k. Have come across many articles and all say that an excellent example at the most should bring $48k which was in the Porsche Excellence magazine.
I have had mine for just over 4 years. It has 25K miles. Its certainly a great car. Keeping it for right now. Mine's my DD. The only item tempting me to change would be a 997.2 S with PDK. A good size jump in power to 385 (from 345) with PDK.
Mine has been very reliable - no real issues to date. One that was fixed under warranty. Now that it is out of warranty, I'd rather it stay that way.
