I took it to another dealer in North Carolina not a Porsche dealer but an exotic used car dealer who services what they sell.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am new to Rennlist and also just purchased a 01 c2, Blk/Blk, 18" Turbo Twist's. I have H&R springs, Silver int. Console, Dash & Gauge trim on the way. i will post pictures very soon. This is my third P car... Had a 1979/ 911 and a 1988/ 944 a long time ago. I definitly feel at home again in a big way with the 01/c2...its been a long time comming! I've loved 911's for thirty years, ever since my Dad had a 73/911 when I was six. Any way can someone recomend a good mechanic in Orlando? Also my front suspesion is squeaking loud when the car goes over any dips or bumps...any thoughts

POST 2Original post

Will - Welcome to the Porsche Phunny Pharm! Congrads on your "new to you" '01 996! I know you said you will be posting pics soon, but what the hell, I'll say it anyway! PICS, PICS, we need pics... we LOVE pics! OK, you can now consider yourself properly chastised. Welcome again!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the Proper chastising. I'm not very computer savey and also let someone borrow my camera, As soon as I get my camera back I will get someone to post picks. Having the H& R Springs put on today...cant wait. I like the silver Carrera script, going to order one today. Can you explain to me... what are bumper and door plugs? Also is it difficult to install the in dash Spoiler switch? Thanks for the welcome. Nice pipes!

POST 4Original post

If you dont mind making the trip to St.Pete I would be glad to look at it for you. Possibly a sway bar end link.

POST 5Original post

will, I had the same problem in my 01 996 blk/blk with turbotwist wheels. It was "fixed" twice under warranty with replacement of steering rack and both front lower control arms. 3 months after the last time the squeaking was "fixed" it started again. I took it back to the Porsche dealer and they "found" the problem. My car is no longer under warranty and they wanted to charge me $550.00 to replace something else up front. I took it to another dealer in North Carolina not a Porsche dealer but an exotic used car dealer who services what they sell. The mechanic who I have gotten to know pretty and who has handled the same problem on some boxters lubed up the areas he thought it might be coming from. Months and a thousand miles later... no squeak! So be careful, if they tell you you need to replace something and want to charge you over $500 they may either not know what they are doing or are just trying to make some money. P.S. I lived in Orlando years ago but now I'm in NC so I can't help you with a mechanic. Good luck! Kevin
