you can fine tune the input gain to eliminate the wind all together and adjust the output gain for good volume and signal to the amp.

Suggestion
Ditch the cheap looking LEDs and come up with a "clean" looking integrated headlight module that more naturally incorporates the turn signal into the unit without looking like an afterthought.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Al & Ed's Autosound in Marina Del Rey on the coner of Venice Blvd and Elm Street just completed a full audio system in this Porsche 996 convertible. We modified the dash to house the new ALPINE INE-Z928HD 8 inch touch screen, which is the largest available touchscreen on the market today. We also upgraded the front 3 way speakers with DYNAUDIO Estotec 242 system and fully sound deadened the front doors for improved mid-bass response. To power the system a MOSCONI AS200.4 was installed in the front boot behind a carpeted cover. We are authorized dealer for all of these brands.

Clean job. I'm personally not a fan of putting a high end audio system in a 911, as I want to hear the engine, exhaust, etc. However, the work you did looks very stock and the taillights appear surprisingly nice. Thanks for sharing.
In the video when you were talking about the amp in the front, you said "Porsche's are notorious for engine noise".
Just as an FYI that is a good thing most 911 owners love the sound of the flat 6.
I get about 30 email a month from Pcar owners with noise issues. A good install shop can perform the install and eliminate all noises. Sometime you just want to drop the top kill the radio and rip down a windy road and who am i to deny someone of that pleasure
I must be blind but I don't see pricing on the tail lights. Price? They are $600 on eBay. What mods did you make to them? Do you provide DIY instructions?
i wish the ones on ebay are the Revi
THeses are the OEM Depo Performance lights i sell the for 800.00
Instructions provided 90 day exchange
D48-1902P-AEVCR google the part number and see
I think there's a large disconnect on what "engine noise" is in this case.
The OP is talking about engine noise thru the stereo system (alternator whine), and not literally the noise from the engine.....
meet all OEM SAE and DOT certifications. they are stamped depo and have all proper DOT SAE certifications and guarantee to be error free. the whole light is perfectly polished and they hang on the car like a champ. about a 10 min install. no wiring needed.
So the proper terminology would be "meet OEM specification".
To say they are OEM would make the buyer believe they were manufactured by Bosch. Googled the part number like you said and I was taken to a couple of Taiwanese sites. Definitely not an OEM supplier of Porsche.
Not saying they aren't quality pieces, but please be clear in your representation of the product.
no i was waiting on my new camera to show up....its charging im going to have them up today
there only 8 sets of these lights head lights
there going for like 2k on ebay and no one gonna be making anymore at this point

If you have HID on the car as a factory option you will need to have the wiring done by a professional
there designed for the non HID cars.
headlight photos Price 1500.00 shipped. PM me or email me

for cars without hid as a factory option. Cars with factory HID will require a rewire.
there a retro fit. an aftermarket light made to replace a factory OEM and update the look of the car and add led Day Time running lights brings the car to more of the modern era because you can now get a VW GOLF with LED DTR Factory.
Retrofit as in:
: to install (new or modified parts or equipment) in something previously manufactured or constructed
Not
retro
: relating to, reviving, or being the styles and especially the fashions of the past : fashionably nostalgic or old-fashioned <a retro look>
Kinda like when OEM is not OEM
Oh yay, more crappy looking headlights crammed full of tacky LEDs.
What is so difficult about the idea of creating an aftermarket headlight/tail light for a car that looks like it could be OEM? Is it really that hard to design something that compliments and modernizes the styling of the car instead of looking like it came from the clearance isle at Pep Boys? Good Lord.
You know I have no idea what you look or sound like "in real life" but every time I read one of your posts I read it as though Will Ferrell is speaking it. It's very strange...yet entertaining! lol

Well if anyone has about 400k. We can get something going thats about what it cost to make a mold and order the first 500 set.
Can we get find and investor who is interest?
all my capital tied up trying to get a 996 turbo tail light done.
If I'm changing out my headlights, I think I'd just stick to OEM litronics. The LEDs looked pretty cool when they first came out on Audis, but I think they're too overdone now.
Different story for the rears. THey really look good and OEMish.
there not for everyone i will agree
renntech been trying to get those lights done for a long time
only problem there running into is that some people have got rid of their cars. and most of them are 997.
i think EB works was trying to do something
I know the minimum production run is 50-100 and about 1000.00 -1200.00 a light
Some of you guys are pretty harsh on the time it took him to post PICs and the idea of "... retro" vs. "... retro." Tough crowd.
My 2 Cents... The rear lights look really nice... The fronts look too busy... The older my car gets, the more it starts to look, well, older, and some of the freshening up ideas just don't seem to work.
The stereo upgrade and install looks great. Very nice work guys and nice that you took the effort to have the Porsche logo load in to the screen. Nice idea to move the A/C controls down... And nice placement of the components. It looks great. Hope it sounds as good too. (No reason to think it wouldn't).
I've really been struggling with mine and what to do there. On the one hand, I like the stock look, but I sure miss the XM in my wife's HONDA!
Thanks for sharing.

PS Did not like the smart phone dock. I think a better idea would be to hide the plug in the console or one of the storage bins... Just my opinion.
you don't have to do the 8 inch screen we can always go with a 7 inch screen with the porsche logo dash kit which is a clean look as well with the boot screen keep it more of an oem feel
About the noise, what are some things you can do? I have what I think is a very short solid ground for both my amp and head unit but I still get a very slight whine that can only be heard when the radio is muted. The pitch changes with the RPMs.
Couldn't agree more with the Captain. This style headlight has been available for the last few years, doesn't look "Porsche", and is not for me. Ditch the cheap looking LEDs and come up with a "clean" looking integrated headlight module that more naturally incorporates the turn signal into the unit without looking like an afterthought. And pricing is key. Few people are going to shell out $1500 unless the look is a significant improvement over factory, which these are not.
I found the Audio Control EQS work the best.
1. it isolates the rca grounds inside the EQ
2. It allows the Rca to be balanced line
3. you can fine tune the input gain to eliminate the wind all together and adjust the output gain for good volume and signal to the amp.
you can try copper coated tape around the wires that pass by the fuse panel in some cases this will shield the rca or speaker wires to eliminate the interference
rca filters can increase the noise in my experience
also i have found if you run the amp turn on thru a relay it will also help eliminate this noise.
yes out of the box the lights tie in to the parking lights For the White LED.
Now if you want them on all the time like a AUTO DRL you just have to add a relay and power to the parking lights similar to our 997 DTR Auto thread
The car stock has no DTR feature. The lights are plug and play on 996 MK1 and the Boxster
Del Rey,
I want to put led lights on my 2001 C2. It looks like even the OEM ones would fit in the scoop, but not sure. Do you have something like this and how hard is it to install?
