For ducting up thru the front bumper I used the GT2/TT ducting reversing it to vent upwards.
Leading evidence: 'Use gt2/tt ducting reversing it' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run duct' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
For street I'm not entirely convinced you need to run the duct but for your endurance application, I def would.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all! I just bought an 03 996. I have to add a 3rd radiator for track use.
Any options other than the $600 porsche kit?
Aero Kit suggestions. Porsche has the 996 Aero Kit II but i am wondering if the GT3 front bumper would work better?
Thanks
Unfortunately, you're stuck with the porsche kit for a true plug and play. There are some vendors that offer a decent discount on these.
It's ironic that the 997 center radiator kit is barely above $200 though. Unfortunately the 997 version doesn't fit on our cars.
Don't forget to cut out the slots underneath your aero bumper for the airflow if they're not already cut out. Or you can cut slots on the upper part of the bumper if you wanna do it Cup car style and provide a bit more downforce. Edit: Exiting airflow at the top actually reduces lift and does not technically produce any downforce.
I guess it would depend on the hose conditions and the amount of bent fins as it may not be worth it. I was sorta surprised at how much just the hoses ran.
Use the 996 Tiptronic center radiator. A little smaller than the cup but about half the cost.
For ducting up thru the front bumper I used the GT2/TT ducting reversing it to vent upwards. Takes a little manipulation but significantly cheaper than the Cup ductwork....
Ok, doing the IMS/RMS/Flywheel/Clutch monday. Then radiator. Any consensus for a shifter mod best for track use. Im ok with the long runs but would like to tighten up the shift a bit. Doing SS engine mounts which may help.
Tiptronic center radiator = GT3 center radiator. This is what most people use.
Cup Car = Turbo center radiator
Btw, cup cars do not have the air deflector behind the radiator. The big difference is cup car center radiators are mounted angled forward to channel air upward while the rest of the cars are angled backwards towards the tub to channel air downward.
any of you guys who did the conversion interested in selling the black center plastic piece you have to take out of the bumper so air could pass through? I had to buy a used bumper that came from a car that had a center radiator and mine doesnt so i dont need to hole or i could trade with someone who wants to upgrade.
Ok so the cooling with the tiptronic radiator is adequate. I will be doing enduro runs so I need to the car to stay cool. Suncoast sells the GT3 as a kit which has the new tubes to tie in. Do they sell these separately or are you guys making your own? Thanks
Here is a big question as I am about to install a third radiator as well
Wouldn't it be cheaper and more durable to tie in the third radiator with A/N fittings and hoses versus the rubber ones? You could just tap the exits and go from there...
When I was sourcing mine, it was cheaper at the time to piece it together. I think some retailers add a price premium whenever the model "Gt3" is involved. It might be different now.
Also as an alternative, if you're not an OEM stickler kind of guy, you can buy OE grade replacement radiators and hoses for almost half the price. (~$250). You will still have to source the duct and brackets though. For street I'm not entirely convinced you need to run the duct but for your endurance application, I def would.
I elected to stay OEM personally though after having some bad experiences in the past. YMMV.
Many places but one of the sponsors here also has good pricing.
