Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey all, Quick question... all of a sudden while driving (actually, whilst in a sharp decreasing radius turn on the track), my seat belt chime started dinging and the seat belt light on the dash came on. A 2003 C2. My understanding is that it is a bad seat belt receptacle sensor? Any way to tell which one? Any idea of what's involved (time/cost/effort) to replace? I found a post on some other site where a guy said that OEM replacements were not available, and new ones required a new control computer. Here's his post: Could this be true? I don't have an air bag light on, just the seat belt light. Thanks in advance! __________________

POST 2Original post

Try cleaning the contacts in the buckle with electronic contact cleaner first.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good suggestion. I'll give that a shot.

POST 4Original post

And check the connection under the seat to the wiring harness. My passenger receptacle's plug was just loose.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ah, another good suggestion. The driver's seat was out recently for a re-cover, so maybe the connector is loose. I'll poke around at it a bit and see if there is anything to be seen.
