I will have to pay to sell it, The original plan was to pay cash for it, but I financed it to get it home, then sat on the money as I learned more about my car and my fears grew, and then used some of the money to keep the houses which are my "real" investments, and have to be kept where as the cars and toys are always secondary and I know they are a depreciating asset.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

One good "how much is it worth" thread deserves another.
So mine is 99' C2 with 109+k miles...original motor. No service issues, no sevice records other than the stuff I have done. 5 owners, 2 accidents both keys and all manuals, tools and spare. Aero front bumper, S03 tires with about 20% life left on the rears 40 on fronts. CF fixed back seats, PSE hack 3.6 muffler, 997 shifter. (comes with spare GT2 wing
)
Many of you know I love it and have stayed on top of any issues that have come up, I have also taken care of basic maintenance.
I may need to make some major changes and I will be loosing money for sure, but my guess is that its worth more than $10k and less than $20...throw your darts so i can narrow it down to help me decide
(this inside picture was take w/o cleaning it up...just to show the seats, take late last year, outside shots are a month ago) I have some brand new floor mats I can toss in to clean that up quickly
front bumper needs re-paint
overall I would consider it in average shape, maybe even on the lower end due to paint issues. The records dont help. I have had it track inspected and there are no issues. I think the RMS is begining to say "Hello" but figured I would not touch it till it needed a clutch. That could be several years? I have fixed any other leaks
I paid $22.5 exactly a year ago. If you are in the market at mid teens and like my car, maybe I can take a full set of pics for you.
I love my car but I might need to free up some money as 2 of my 2 renters got layed off. I could be facing 3 mortgages soon as some rentals are sitting empty and not many people looking to move
i feel ur pain......also 2 of 2 renters stopped paying.....
i am on my last reserve ....so my car might be for sale if things dont improve...
good luck!
Guys, that's terrible. I really hope u get someone new in there right away, or the current tenants get jobs.
Worse case scenario u could always pick up a used Honda....
renting market should pick up...so start posting that you have have spaces free....but then again the 2nd wave is now entering the foreclosure market and that is the normal people ( I mean people with normal mortgages) who lost or are losing their job.....this is a terrible situation. Hope it works out for you guys....I can only imagine your your 99 with 105K is not worth much....is it your outright or are you owing money on it? because that is what is going to determine how much you would need for it (within reason.... like 15.5 or 17 or 18.5 etc)

Thanks for the kind words guys, I really and looking at some hard choices, but I know I will get thru. These are a lot harder times on some folks than others and I surely do not want to pretend I have it so bad.... just have to make a couple side steps to avoid getting swamped and sinking
Ed, is this a car that Gerber Motorsports is familiar with? Maybe they did the track inspection for you? Either way, I'd be interested in coming by and looking at your car, if you do decide to sell it. I'm in Wallingford so hopefully that's pretty close to you.
Sure, I am in Bellevue just north of Eastgate about 5 minutes. since you are new, I cannot PM you, but I am not worried about showing my number on here.
give me a ring and come have a look, even if the car isnt right for you, at least its a data point in your search
you know, its good to get a second opinion on something you love....
Neill (batty) stopped by today and checked out my car. I wont spoil his post in the even that he wants to write his own impression, but I can say it was a real pleasure to meet him and we had plenty of Porsche talk and even got behind the wheel for a nice little cruise. We had quite a nice time IMO. The weather was perfect and the company was refreshing and delightful.
Tim, hurry up to Seattle if you plan on getting that "free ride"
I'd say your car will sell for $17 - 18 K. What's is worth? Well of course it's worth more but that's what it might actually sell for. I just sold mine for $20.5 K and it took a LONG time. Only 2 calls in months. Mine had no accidents and 64K miles, needed nothing. That's the market today.
A big thanks to Ed for a wonderful test drive and visit. There was a thread on one of these boards not long ago about whether it was better to buy from a dealer or private party, well simply put, I've never had a dealer visit half as fun as talking shop with Ed for two plus hours. It's very easy to see why he is such a valued member of the community here.
Great car, super sharp, a large part of me wishes Ed didn't have to sell it at all. Maybe if you guys can get Ed to go on the record about getting another P-car, I'll feel better about making an offer, but he did say ominously, "Even if I never get another Porsche, I'll have been thrilled to own this one."
Well for those who know Ed, there's no way this can be his last Porsche. Right, Ed?
