However I just installed Intrax suspension taking the car down to GT3 heights and thats when the standard drop links become too short to maintain clearance with the ARB.

I guess people are using the stock links for the rear, but on mine, the sway bar is sitting really close to the lower control arm.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I just had PSS9s, GT3 sways, adj. front links, adj. rear control arms, engine protection plate, and the front lip spoiler installed yesterday. The difference in handling is simply night and day!! I am very pleased. However, I always thought the GT3 rear sway bar will fit a C2 with the stock links. Well, they do sort of... with the stock links the sway bar is almost touching the lower control arm. There is probably just over 1/8" clearance. The shop (Fiorano, for those in TO) suggested either going for the stock GT3 rear links or try to find some custom links. So my question is, for those with a similar setup, what do u guys use? Have u encountered such a problem? The GT3 links are quite a bit longer (160mm from centre to centre). TIA

POST 2Original post

Rear OE links are fine to use. The fronts need to be shortened. Do a search, there is a specific measurement that has been posted. Chad

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Chad, I have the adj. front links from vividracing and they are working fine. I guess people are using the stock links for the rear, but on mine, the sway bar is sitting really close to the lower control arm. So I assume u don't have this problem?

POST 4Original post

As long as it is not touching you are fine. I used the OE rear links for mine. Worked great. C.

POST 5Original post

Sorry for the old post revival... I have just installed my PSS9 on my car as well and the clearance with my rear gt3 sway bar and the control arm is zero on one side and 2mm on the other side. I assume that the arm and the sway move together but I am not sure rubbing is ok. I can push the sway down with my hand easily so it is not blocking the sway strongly to the point of breaking it, but still rubbing doesn't sit well with me. I'd love to hear from you guys before I invest $$$ in adjustable rear drop links.

POST 6Original post

I had the GT3 rear bar with Mo30 and the standard links were fine. However I just installed Intrax suspension taking the car down to GT3 heights and thats when the standard drop links become too short to maintain clearance with the ARB. So I modified my rear drop links to make them adjustable. I'm running them about 20mm longer now.

Did you just cut and thread each piece? Where did you get the female rods from? Mcmaster or Grainger?

POST 8Original post

Nice mod, I am curious to hear how you did it as well The links were fine on my RoW-M030 as well but now on the pss9 they are too short indeed... I'll certainly order some tarett as I am not confident in my skills cutting the OEM

$15 Toolshop brand 4.5" grinder/cutoff tool $15 Tap and Dye set from Sears ~ $20 helm joint rods/linkages from several places like McMaster or Grainger. Or if you feel like you need more beefy or spherical helm joints then you can assemble your own with parts like these with bolts for under $40. http://www.midwestcontrol.com/series.php?id=101 http://www.midwestcontrol.com/part_family.php?id=8 However I do like how OZ951 repurposed and recycled the existing parts he had.

POST 10Original post

Found the McMaster stuff: http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/118/1189/=fw0mps Edit: Rods as well: http://www.mcmaster.com/#linear-shafts/=fw0pfb

POST 11Original post

I cut my existing links in half and put an M8x1.25 Left hand thread on one end and right hand thread on the other half. I had my local machine shop bore some 12mm hex bar to accept an M8 thread and then I tapped LH & RH threads into it. I also bought some LH half nuts to suit. Just have to be careful to get the threads started true / straight!
