Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I agree, the 997 box looks nicer; I had already installed an EVOMS CAI, so I personally didn't install the newer air box.
Leading evidence: 'Install evoms cai' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check knowledge and experience out' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

They did give me a referral to another tech, i just have to check his knowledge and experience out.

To the OP, what about the dealer replacing the missing parts?

I wonder, if I replaced on my 2001 Carrera Stock H would that be considered stock?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just noticed the right angle up on the airbox intake is missing after the last service performed at the dealership. Tech says he would have put it back on and says he dosn't have it. The parts dept wants $600 for a new one as they don't sell the intake box separatly.
So If anyone has one for a 01 C2 they no longer use and would like to sell, please let me know.
I really only need the right angle up which on mine is a separate piece but the newer ones are all one.
What the hell, they obviously forgot to put that back on. I would go back and demand that they install it off another car or come up with a solution fast!
+1. Why the hell would he have to remove the snorkel separately? Usually, you just pull the whole airbox out (1 bolt and one screw clamp) to get to the serpentine. I call BS on your tech and the Service Advisor obviously didn't do any kind of quality control before signing off on the completed work.
There is one noe on eBay, buy it now, for $75 + $19.95 shipping, several more fir $200 or so. Another option is to "upgrade" to the 997 air box for a sleeker look. Several on eBay for about $200.
I never knew that. Agree the 997 box is much nicer and likely allows a bit more air flow. I wonder, if I replaced on my 2001 Carrera Stock H would that be considered stock?
I agree, the 997 box looks nicer; I had already installed an EVOMS CAI, so I personally didn't install the newer air box. But a few RL's have with pics on some threads. And the 997 box has a 3.6 plaque on it, IIRC, so I personally wouldn't put it on a 3.4, without some "modding".
To the OP, what about the dealer replacing the missing parts? There's no way the shop is stating that the car came to them missing the OEM air box elbow. ??
This is exactly what I was thinking when I read the OP's first post.
If the dealership/tech did work in the engine bay then the tech should have made a note of the missing intake piece as soon as he began the work. Also, knowing the stealerships, they would have told you about the missing piece and then quickly tried to sell you a replacement which would have been the right thing to do.
Either way the tech who worked on your car is incompetent and I would not allow him to work on the car again, even if you do go back to this same dealer for service.
I agree!!! But, i'm 60 miles from them and after that it's 140 in the other direction. Went to a shop on fri. "901" but they only work on race cars, so i'm still looking. They did give me a referral to another tech, i just have to check his knowledge and experience out.
Thanks
