Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I would have the car hooked up to a Porsche computer (PST2/PIWIS/durametric) to check for fault codes and verify programming.

If you use the key it is normal for the alarm to sound if the key is not inserted within ~20 seconds.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The alarm going off whenever I don't get the key in the ignition quickly enough or if I lock the car but don't close the trunk quick enough is irritating to put it mildly. These "features" are useless to me. I only want the alarm to go off if someone's actually breaking a window or bypassing the ignition. Any way to set this? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Either your relock is programmed to short or there is something else amiss... perhaps compartment sensor, microswitch, or otherwise. I would have the car hooked up to a Porsche computer (PST2/PIWIS/durametric) to check for fault codes and verify programming.

POST 3Original post

Use the remote? If you use the key it is normal for the alarm to sound if the key is not inserted within ~20 seconds.
