I just had the fluid changed last month, and that helped a little bit.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

30 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I knew I was getting close, but then I forgot about it and looked down yesterday to see the odometer sitting at 100,006 miles. I'm on my second clutch, second RMS and intermediate shaft seal, and original intermediate shaft bearing. So far, so good! The car still runs great, even though it's approaching 10 years old and it has over 100,000 miles on the clock.

POST 3Original post

A great milestone Dennis...I'm envious with only 55k miles on my '99.

POST 4Original post

Great inspiration, my '99 has 46K miles to catch up but it just got promoted to daily driver and only car. I decided not to save it for someone else, I'm going to use it up!!!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It is a good milestone, but I think she's just getting broken in! My wife and I actually discussed trading the C4S in for a newer model before hitting the 100K mark, but I just go this car set up the way I like it! I'm planning to have this car for many more miles.

POST 6Original post

Pics or it never happened. Congrats. I'm about 11k behind you in my '99. I'm guessing less than a year. I want the classic odo pic at exactly 100,000, with the trip odo at 996, and at an outrageous speed when the clock turns. You all can look forward to my post that I just hit 100,007 with no pic.

POST 7Original post

congratulations - good news indeed. i am a keeper of well maintained high mileage vehicles. i have quite a ways to go to the 100k mark, but am enjoying adding the miles. mine is a dd, so will be adding 15-20k/year. sounds like your repairs are in line with miles. report back when you reach 200k!

POST 10Original post

Just turned 94K at a DE a few weeks ago. The G-Forces were too heavy to take a pic I like the idea of a pic at 100K at some crazy speed though. Way to go Dennis!

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks all. We just rolled 82K on the Cayenne... so I'll report on that one as well! To put it in perspective though, my son's Audi Allroad is about to roll 170K.

POST 13Original post

Quotes source post: 8604782

Welcome... I just changed my oil today and I'm sitting at about 100,600 (still no debris in the oil filter) My Allroad just hit 115k, good to hear I may get another 60k out of her. (the tranny is a little sketchy though)

POST 15Original post

I am less than 3K miles to 100K miles. Hopefully, I will drive it enough to hit it this season.

POST 16Original post

Just rolled over 40,000 this week, so I have some catch up to get to 100K. When I traded my 1992 VW Jetta in it had 191,959 miles when I parked it at the dealer and got out. I took a pic of the reading...no idea what happened to it now that was over 10 years ago. That was a great car! Slow, no power anything, but I loved it!

POST 17Original post

I'm at 105k right now. I took pics during the 100k milestone but will have to transfer them from my phone to RL. Congrats!

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 8604980

The transmission is a bit dodgy on our Allroad too. It tends to slip in reverse, especially if it has been parked on a hill. I just had the fluid changed last month, and that helped a little bit. I'm afraid I'm headed towards a rebuild in the near future.

POST 19Original post

Quotes source post: 8604980

My 996 is at about 107K (see my avatar for the obligatory milestone pic) but my Allroad is only sitting at about 56K. No slippage with the Allroad trans on account of it being a 6 speed manual. I did just have a clutch replaced though. Apparently this is just a little less unpleasant than repairing a Tiptronic. As far as the 996 goes, it's running as good as new with a new engine installed at 35K or something like that. I plan to replace the IMS bearing whenever the clutuh is done.

POST 20Original post

127 here. 3rd clutch (first one done at 5K miles? Who knows why) 2nd set of brakes Didnt wait for IMS to bite me.. Did the retro at 103

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 8609711

Lucky you (having a manual trans on the Allroad). I am one that loves diving into projects (transmission swaps, engine drops, etc) but the Allroad with the 2.7T is too much for me. You have to pull the front end off and yank the entire motor + trans out.. No thanks! It has been more reliable than my 996 believe it or not. (knock on wood)

POST 22Original post

132K on car, 45K on motor (2000 MY). All this Audi talk makes me miss my 95 S6 Avant (sold to get the 911 at 146K) Stefan

POST 23Original post

At the rate I drive, it will be 2021 before I hit 100k. I work out of the home office and travel for 3-4 weeks at a time, so between the 30 mile drive to the airport to sit for a month and working out of home, I only average 10 miles a week. Damn shame

POST 24Original post

Quotes source post: 8611469

A bit of an Audi hijack for sure. I didn't mean to give the impression that I did the clutch on my Allroad myself. The Audi Indy here in town took 13 hours and the book calls it 14. That transmission is HUGE . If my shop and lift were done I might have tackled it, but there's no *way* l would lying on my back in my carport. I kind of like the Audi (it's my wife's car) but as I tell people, it's no Porsche. I find the car frustrating car to work on whereas the Porsche I find kind of pleasant.

POST 25Original post

Congrats to Dennis! To all of you with Pcars that have 100K on the clock, this is awesome and insipritational....need to get mine on the road a lot more.....although, seems to be used more and more for track events........gotta change that.

POST 26Original post

Congrats on the milestone. Sitting at just over 81K on the Turbo. 100K will take me a few years. My '99 A4 1.8T 5Speed Quattro on the other hand just passed 150K.

POST 27Original post

My '01 Cab is sitting in my garage in NY with only 22,000 on the clock while I'm working in Puerto Rico for the next 4 years. I only get to drive it when I get home once a month. What a waste. Can't wait for retirement. On the other hand, just ordered a new Q5 for the spouse. Won't get to drive that either or even see it.

POST 29Original post

what is the intermediate shaft seal is that a big job?

POST 30 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The intermediate shaft seal isn't a big deal if you're having the clutch or RMS done. The IMS bearing is a slightly bigger deal, but many people have done it.
