For my 40th and my last car, I've been using a Motorola T505 which allows me to play music from my phone and answer calls via BT.

Next I got to fix the squeaky spoiler and update the audio for use with an external source.

Just picked up 2004 Anniv #728 with 15.5k on the clock, now 16.6 with the drive back home. Engine was replaced at 11K due to an ims bearing failure in Jan 2010
Pics a little blurry and dirty, just got back.
Next I got to fix the squeaky spoiler and update the audio for use with an external source. Looks like I need to swap the head unit and amp min for bt, but the cabin noise is so loud it might not be that useful. Other thing to do the aux cable in with becker hd unit. Opinions?

I don't think I would do any thing to a numbered LE that can't be undone. If you want BT and iPod, you want to go with the Dension GW500. It works with the existing MOST in your car.
You are correct that BT handsfree is almost useless at speed due to the noise. Use an earpiece with good ambient noise reduction.

Nice car ! My becker was broken - so replaced with double DIN Pioneer AVH3200BT - you can add navi and back up camera if you want to that unit. Eurospeed on ebay has a nice install kit. I didn't have MOST - so could still use the BOSE amp ... which is not great - but kept the cost to <$700. There are a lot of threads on here about upgrading the MOST system - I think possible, but need to go with experienced installer.
I also prefer engine noise to music .. but in traffic it is still useful to have the stereo once in a while ...
Thanks everyone. Looks like I'm going to add the aux in to the cdr23 for now.
BTW its the first time in a week since I drove my other car, saab 92x aka the saabaru (a wrx clad in saab sheet metal). Feels like I'm driving a minivan compared to the porsche.
