Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, I have a 2000 MY Carrera with 45k (Tip). On my way home today, when I hit a bump (while holding steering wheel) my horn beeped. I can hear something making noise (like a short) somewhere in the steering column (possibly by the airbag). Not sure what to do? I currently unplugged the fuse to the horn. Any ideas on where to check where the loose wire may be?

POST 4Original post

I had a similar experience with my 986 a few years ago and it was a worn contact frame for the air bag causing the horn contact to touch. I changed the aluminum frame out and never had the problem again.
