gotta get my jack back before I can check the wheel, but it sounds like that may be the case here.

I.e., I'm wondering if the blowout and subsequent tire change (by the dealer, who I've had a great relationship with so far) may have caused this issue.

When I got the car back, I was pleased with the changes (could see many subtle differences with the alignment - also, previous rears were very worn ).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ok, I've done some searches, and can't find anything (yet) specific to my issue.
A couple of weeks ago, I had a blowout on my right rear tire on my C4S. I replaced both tires in the back and had a 4 wheel alignment done (the first time doing each for me on this car - also, the front tires were in almost new condition to begin with). When I got the car back, I was pleased with the changes (could see many subtle differences with the alignment - also, previous rears were very worn ).
Anyway, when I got a chance to get the car into a good road, I noticed on the 2nd or 3rd turn at a fairly good clip that the psm kicked on into the turn WAY prematurely - at first I though it was my imagination, but as i have continued to drive, it now shows up roughly once every outing (accompanied by the appropriate lights) - it is so distracting now that it is almost dangerous. I have as of yet not been able to identify if it is on the rear right specifically or not - often it feels like either of the front wheels.
So the question is, is this a problem that occurs periodically on other cars? I.e., I'm wondering if the blowout and subsequent tire change (by the dealer, who I've had a great relationship with so far) may have caused this issue. The car is a CPO, so I'm thinking that a spontaneous issue would be covered. However, I would have to wonder if the blowout may have damaged a wheel sensor if the warranty would cover such an issue.
thoughts?
check the connection at the wheel speed sensor,
are the tires the correct sizes front and rear.........are they the same brand and model
porsceh are really sensitive to tires
yeah, the tires are the same size designation as in the manual, and they are all Pirelli Pzero Rosso N5s
gotta get my jack back before I can check the wheel, but it sounds like that may be the case here.
The PSM steering wheel angle sensor sometimes needs to re-centered after an alignment. At the very least it should be checked after one. I would ask the dealer if they did so and if not consider having them plug in their PiWiS tester and check it.
uncalibraed sas will "ussually" thow a fault at start up. You gonna need to find out what the fault is.
The chances of the sensor getting damaged are slm the sensor is in the knuckle and pretty much safe rom damage from a blow out. the connection is a little higher up culd have been knocked loose but really not likely. The wire could have been hit but i really think you would have a fault as soon as you move the car. If the basics...... tires are all the right size and match and tire pressure is correct then you will need to get a fault before we can continue trying to diagnose. CPO should cover 99% of the abs system
I remember when I had new Dunlops put on my C2 and the service manager told me to be careful for the first couple hundred mile because of mold release and such. I thought to myself, ya right! Well he was right, on my way home it felt like it was on Jello tires. Each mile I put on the tires they got better, but I recall really steering hard and having things get pretty squirrelly.
Could your problem be from new tires not being worn in?

well, I've definitely felt the slippery new tire syndrome, and this isn't anything like it - perhaps the wheel sensor needs to re-adjust to it? My wife was out in the car yesterday, and claims she has no idea what I'm talking about - no quick jerk/dash lights to speak. Now chances are she didn't push the car as much as I do, but it was happening at random times during any speed over 40 during any gradual turn.
Either way, whether it's cleared on it's own or not, I figure might as well tell the dealer about it and get them to check it out if there's no issue it being covered under the CPO warranty (plus they're not far from my house and I have to talk to them about my audi anyway
as always, thanks for the input, guys.
I have experienced this exact same problem after having new rear tires put on. I have a fault code, I think it's 8400, but I don't recall it for sure right now. My mechanic has been trying to run down the code without me going to the dealer. Has anyone else seen this and if so, how did you fix it?
