This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I lifted up the oil filler tube (the one with the yellow oil cap) while installing my new intake and it cracked off. Does anyone know how to take this off and install a new one? it looks as if it goes straight and then down into the motor. Where can I buy this. Thanks 99 996 C2

POST 2Original post

it's like $20 from the dealer; pretty common failure. sometimes it will make the car run funny, too.

POST 3Original post

Another top notch example of German Engineering? Remove alternator to get to the 2 bolts that hold it in.

POST 4Original post

yep remove alternator, I had to remove throttle body also. hardest part for me was to wiggle the end of the new pipe and make it seal into the block!! fairly easy job though took me about an hour all up.

POST 5Original post

Make sure to tap the alternator bolt once a little loose to open up the bushing, this will save some cussin' later.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

lol thanks so much guys this helps a ton. Does anybody know where I can buy it online?

POST 7Original post

Have you looked at Pelican Parts or Sunset Porsche.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yes i can find it on pelican parts and ill look at sunset right now. Also I called the stealer and they quoted me 50 dollars!

POST 10Original post

So I did my polyrib belt today (60K is complete now), which was extremely simple thanks to everyone's tips, and guess what, I ran down the source of my vac leak. Cracked oil filler tube, figure I'll r&r before I put the airbox back on. Anyone have a part number for a Mk2 C2 (2002) oil filler tube?

POST 11Original post

Quotes source post: 4179818

well, they could have put in a metal one. But then one of the popular weight mods would be to replace it with a light weight plastic one that also bends up to make putting oil in eaiser..

POST 12Original post

Someone would make an aluminum one also... for $200.
