Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone know the best frequency (station) to receive XM radio crystal clear (or what's close to it without static?) Thanks! (Los Angeles)

POST 2Original post

Sorry I cannot help with you question on LA FM stations. I am up in Northern California. Regardless however, I have not been happy with any FM modulator clarity vs direct input. Have you considered buying an XM input kit.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll have to check that out, where do I get an input kit? Thanks!

The Sirius/XM website carries the items you would need. Good luck.

POST 5Original post

Contact Becker. Let them know your year model, radio type and what device you want to connect. I cannot recall the amount but it was well under $100 for my 2001. Make sure you get the "keys" from them as well to allow headset removal. BeckerAutoSound.com For details check this older post. It gives some details on how to run the cable after it is plugged in. It was for an IPOD but description sounds like my XM Aux connection wiring: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=65571

POST 8Original post

is sirius free?? my car has that - never tried it

POST 9Original post

If you call and ask them to "try" it they will give you a month or two free. Also, don't but the sales pitch after the free period call and ask to cancel even if you want to keep it and they will offer you a discounted rate I pay about $80 a year for best of XM (i.e. everything but Stern and Playboy)

POST 10Original post

maybe I should sell the radio because I wont use that - my car had someone who liked that stuff I guess...I would be happy with an am/fm 3 watt "system"

POST 11Original post

Two good sites to find a frequency for the FM adapters... http://www.sirius.com/fmlocator http://elecurls.tripod.com/fm-free.htm I like the second one better as it shows a graph of the strength of the nearby signals and lets you know which are good, great, and best. For example, by me there are two listed as best. 96.1 and 100.1 are both very clear, but 100.1 has a few very strong signals near it, which leaves me with 96.1 with only one strong and one medium signal nearby. -Michael

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks for the info, both MiamiC70 and savowood

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks all, btw, I signed up for lifetime sub for XM in the car...I know ppl might have an issue with this, but I'm going to keep my AE forever, so why not? =)

POST 14Original post

I did the same about 2 years ago and never looked back. Congratulations.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, Brucechas, this validates my decision...and in the meantime, before getting the direct input as was suggested, I did tune my radio to 101.5 and it sounds pretty good! Much better than before...thanks, savowood!

POST 16Original post

Kyle, I got turned on to Pandora a week ago. Why would you ever go satalite?
