Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was at the track about a month ago and this guy had a roof rack for his track wheels and tires. I'm thinking for next season I might do this... Or do any of you guys know if I can fit 4 wheels and tires in the car if I take out the passenger seats?

POST 2Original post

somebody put 4 wheels and tires (stock sizes) in his 40th. haven't seen pictures but he said that his wife still rode in the car even.

POST 3Original post

I don't believe the roof rack will support the weight properly. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...o-track-3.html

POST 4Original post

too heavy, its a no go small (really really small) trailer, or inside or share 2 in your car and 2 in a buddy's car

POST 6Original post

http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...e=996_roofrack max load is 165lbs. I guess it depends on how heavy your wheels and tires are but assuming about 25 lbs for wheels and 25 lbs for tires you're over the limit. -Shawn

I think I know the guy you're talking about - silver 996 Turbo? Anyway, he's used a roof rack for his tires for years with no problem. I agree it's a lot of weight but it works for him.

POST 9Original post

Bruth Barth ( of PA now AZ) has been putting his on a roof rack for 10+ years with no problems, other then hoisting them up there.

POST 10Original post

I get 4 wheels with tires in my targa with no problems at all. I then have the compressor and tools in the trunk up front. Wheel config is, two front wheels side by side on the passenger seat, two rear wheels in the back with the back seat pads lowered and the wheels flat. I use towels to protect the front seats and my wides land rover trunk protector for the back seats
