I was really hoping to use the term "coche-block" in this thread after reading the title, but I can't.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST

I was at home last weekend finishing up my mini-vacation spending most time around the house preparing for the twins, painting, spackling, more painting, more furniture moving...ect. I sit down at the computer and get some pictures together and decide to post the Porsche up for sale on Cars.com. As Im posting this I get a huge lump in my throat...and I slowly come to terms that I really cant sell this car, theres nothing wrong with it, it looks great and its exactly what Ive been looking for as far as a "fun" car goes. I start crunching some numbers, and with keeping the Porsche and getting the Subaru..its do able but not exactly responsible DAD territory. I look at my wife and explain that I cant and dont want to sell the car and that I dont want the STi, she tells do what makes me happy(without a sarcastic tone). I go back to thinking about my intial car I wanted to replace the Saab with....
Without Further ado......
She went into Surgery after these shots were taken, now her paint is corrected. Ample room in the back for two carseats, AWD, and great crashtest ratings, intoxicating exhuast note!!!

Overall,I think a 996 and a R32 is much better than an STi, wouldnt you agree?
In Europe and Asia people raise entire families with much smaller cars than the Golf.
The front seats fold back quite easily and easy to insert the infant car seat into the base.
I LOVE the R32
Nice, my brother in law had the DSG..... very fun car with some coilovers and roll bars. GL.... But let me understand this.... you were gonna sell the 996 and get an STi.... now you get to keep the 996 and got the R32.... now thats a hell of a deal. Your gonna have to give her a new kitchen now.
I've got to give your wife credit. There aren't many women out there that would understand that guys like cars, especially when it's a Porsche, and will give you the leeway to "have your car and eat it too."
You may find it a pain to put the kids in the back of the 2-door, but what a nice compromise. Porsche, Golf, Twins, Wife. Yep, you win!!

Last two vacations cost me Upwards of 5Gs in home improvements....she gets treated like gold....which allows me to get away with a bit more than ussuall when it comes to cars.
I couldnt ask for more.
congrats on the twins and the new ride! My twins love the p-car (they are 7), and still remember the 9-3 Aero convertible I hauled them in before it...kids are small, they don't need much room :-) ...the back of the 911 fits cars seats (front facing when they needed them), and the ear to ear smile on the kids' faces riding in the back it priceless....
Wait, you have a Porsche, and your Volkswagen has become your favorite daily driver? I insist on a vote of the membership to see whether this individual is still sane enough to be a member of this board.

Take them in the 911 and place the diaper bag between them so it slaps them in the face during hard cornering. Should train them to no be dirtying diapers or the deaper bag returns
Plus they'll grow up to be porsche race car drivers.
Not nice, but I try. Good luck on settling on a schedule for who gets up to feed and change diapers at night.
Uh Oh, the committee for driving purity has caught me!
But I would counter that in this day and age, is there any difference between a Porsche and a Volkswagen, or an Audi, or a Lamborghini, or a Bentley, or a Seat, or a Sodka, and possibly in the future a Ferrari?
I bought my wife a Volvo wagon several years ago. She woke up one morning and started complaining to me that I had bought her a FORD!!! How could I stoop so low?!?!?!?!
There certainly is a global relationship between a lot of these companies, but I would still contend - with no humor intended - that in the case of the Porsche marque, you are not buying a Volkswagen! That is like saying that someone buying a Lexus is actually buying a Toyota or that someone buying a Bentley is actually buying an oversized Mini-Cooper!! Take THAT - a Mini Cooper for $200K, now that's rich!!

Now you can mod that car too! Maybe use my boys over @ 034motorsports GTI project car as an outline...... 996 Turbo rear end mated to a monster turbo mid-engine V6. That should keep you busy for a weekend or two:

The volks is a great car, and will be a whole lot of fun to drive.. and Kudos for keeping the P-Car.
Notwithstanding the 2 door configuration which will become annoying pretty quickly as the kids grow, but having enough room for transporting strollers, diaper bags, bottles etc and all the gear small kids and your wife feel they cant leave home with out...
Thanks for bearing with me, the biggest challenge we expereinced was small kids and sporty hard suspensions, with them getting car sick.. We had to sell our very well equiped Audi A4 sport because
my daughter had vomitted so many times in the car we couldnt live with the smell andy more, especially on those hot days... We switched to a bigger A6 with a soft suspension.. (land yacht)...
good luck with the twins
Thanks....for family trips it will definately be the Subaru Tribeca.....The R32 is for getting me to and from work and will be for scooting the kids to my moms or wifes aunts for babysitting.
