Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Painted it to match the dash plastic and have since replaced the crappy CD holder with the storage bin, sound is good enough for me with the stock BOSE setup and I love the Bluetooth, iPOd and XM radio.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So as I am anxiously awaiting results of the PPI for my new to me 996, I am shopping for a HU that will have Nav, Bluetooth and Sirius. I found this:Pioneer-AVIC-U310BT http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVIC-U...=cm_cr_pr_pb_t Has anyone installed this on their PRE MOST (99-02) 996? And most importantly - where do I buy the new trim piece for the climate control after I relocate it to the bottom? Is there a part number? Thanks

POST 2Original post

ebay for the trim. It's a moderately difficult install. You need to cut some plastic out of the stock mounting, routing a GPS antenna can be a challenge, and there are a lot of wires with the AVIC. There are instructions with the kit which will help, but they're not updated for the parking brake bypass.

POST 3Original post

I have the AVIC-Z in my 02, did the install myself. Climate control part is 6 bucks or so at the dealer [IMG] [/IMG]

POST 4Original post

^^^ nice setup! I havent done one of those installs since I was 18. Im sure its a totally diff ball game now...

POST 6Original post

Thanks, I got the trim from an ebay seller, it's an excellent fit. Painted it to match the dash plastic and have since replaced the crappy CD holder with the storage bin, sound is good enough for me with the stock BOSE setup and I love the Bluetooth, iPOd and XM radio.
