Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I discovered that I am stuck in 996s for a long time (not a bad place to be really.) The reason is that a few months after I got it, I installed the GT3 delete option (available at Suncoast Porsche).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took my 2002 C4S over to the local Porsche dealer for minor surgery. They gave a loaner, a 2007 Cayman, which has an interior very similar to a 997. I discovered that I am stuck in 996s for a long time (not a bad place to be really.) The reason is that a few months after I got it, I installed the GT3 delete option (available at Suncoast Porsche). It is a mod that removed the verticle console forward of the shift lever. See the attached photo, which is a bit fuzzy. This mod allows one to rest one's right leg towards the center without rubbing on the console. Since there is not similar mod for the 997s (too many hard wired controls in the center console) I can't drive 997s. So, you 996 drivers, we have great cars, keep 'em up and enjoy 'em! Roy

POST 4Original post

Im keeping mine.... will try to pass it down to my 6 year old, when he gets older of course.

POST 5Original post

The only thing that might get me into a 997 is a downsized engine, only ~300HP, but still with current technology, DFI, etc, and T-tops.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
