Then I could also replace my Honda with something befitting the expectations of the group.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm looking for a good deal on center caps - I actually only need 1. Porsche wants $215 for the set. Here's an option from Florida:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...ayphotohosting
Any advice or referrals to a trustworthy vendor who's a good deal?
Bob
(ebay as shown) def not OEM, Porsche are all plastic with tabs along the edges and have 2 small holes in the front for easy removal. The ebay ones can be removed by popping them out from the inside of the wheel or by prying it off but risk of breaking the metal/plastic joints.
The oems are lighter and will decrease rotational mass (maybe 5 extra hp, at least)... hence the hefty price.
I purchased a set of these. Of course they are not OEM but they are fine, fit well and look very nice on the wheel better than the OEM black crest on the plastic cap. They were a fraction of the price and you can not tell the difference unless you know. An inexpensive way to dress up the wheel.
Bob, This post must have caught Dell at a weak moment, so you had better jump on those quickly.
BTW - when you see Dell on Saturday, ask him about his "dumpster diving" experience!
Hi Dell!
That's so funny you bring that up as my wife brought it up last night! We were watching this show on HGTV called "the unsellables" where people can't seem to sell their home and don't know why. Usually they haven't a clue and it's because there is so much crap in the house and it's a total mess. The "expert" said, you really need to clean up and throw things out. To which I said aloud, "****, I have no problem with throwing things away, I can't stand a mess and clutter!". Without skipping a beat, my wife says, you mean like those mufflers you promised your friend from Rennlist?". Talked about OWNED!
LOL! I hope our Saturday morning crew gets to meet you in person sometime, Tim. You never disappoint!
Dell - I sent you a PM.
Thanks, everyone. Problem solved.
Bob
talking about a mess....you should see my garage...since the mousson season in SoCal my poor P-car has been sitting outside and I have called in reinforcements from the Netherlands to get it cleaned out, to make space in the garage.
Well, if TIm would get his butt back to NC where he belongs I am sure we'd have another great member to add to the coffee group. However, Bob, he will disappoint you.......he drives a Honda
Well Dell, if you can find me a gazillion dollar per year job in the Raleigh area, I can move back to NC and join you for coffee every Saturday morning. Then I could also replace my Honda with something befitting the expectations of the group.
