Suggestion

I have NO PROBLEMS with Pagid orange, sorry about my confusing thread, Pagids are mostly fine (others here how ever had problems with orange, and some love it, but some others think RS-14 Black, RS-19 Yellow, or RS-29 Yellow ARE THE ONLY ONES TO USE!),...but pagid recently came up with this compound and calls it pagid "sport", which is suppose to be a compromise pad...but, for me it felt like it was worse than OEM.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well since I am going out for my first DE next Wednesday at Thunderhill I was hoping to get some input on race/street brake pads. What would you recommend for a good pad that won't make a lot of noise and wear the rotors out too quickly. Basically I want a balance of performance, but for a street machine. Thanks guys. I guess it's time I become a rennlist member.

POST 2Original post

Pagid Orange would probably be a good set to start on...

POST 3Original post

I was looking for a street/track brake pads, some had complained pagids to be noisy, so I chose pagid "sport"...BIG MISTAKE,....performance worse than OEM, and as I did nt bed it properly (I think this is the reason) the steering wheel rattles on braking. So, whatever you do, don't get the pagid "sport", do a search and it should help.... Jeeva

POST 4Original post

1st DE? I'd use a fresh set of stock pads. Jeeva, I had pad deposit issues with Pagid oranges when I used them w/my 996. When I use the Pagids now, I brake far more aggressively and that seems to have alleviated the problem. I mostly run Hawk 9012s and while they are more abbrasive to the rotor, the stop the car like a brick wall. Interstingly enough, my Audi S4 doesn't have the deposit issue with the Pagids. -KJ

POST 5Original post

1st time out...stock pads for sure...you wont push your brakes unless you are some random Protege who kicks *** I wish that for you, but use the stockers, cook those, then upgrade to a Pagid or Hawk pad. We sell pads, lines, and fluid. So after track day give me a call and we can discuss your driving and what can help you.

POST 6Original post

I have NO PROBLEMS with Pagid orange, sorry about my confusing thread, Pagids are mostly fine (others here how ever had problems with orange, and some love it, but some others think RS-14 Black, RS-19 Yellow, or RS-29 Yellow ARE THE ONLY ONES TO USE!),...but pagid recently came up with this compound and calls it pagid "sport", which is suppose to be a compromise pad...but, for me it felt like it was worse than OEM. So, there is no such thing as an ideal track/street pad which does not shriek, so it's either OEM or have to live with shrieking. A word if caution, it's one thing to choose a pad, and another to find the compatible rotor and bedding it properly. Edit: Oh!, if it's your first time DEFINITELY OEM for you, they are just fine, I never experienced fade with my oem's, but when I switched to R-compound I wanted a pad that has a higher working temp..
