Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Noticed that the lights on 996's the battery maintainer were not on today, uh-oh. Another maintainer crapped out, don't know how long it was dead I have not touched the car since before thanksgiving. Anyways, car was dead..dead..dead. Charged the battery and fired up the engine.... the FisterD's roared to life! Sweet! I really wanted to take it for a spin but 2 things stopped me, the fact that the roads are a mess and the rear tires are baloney skins ( I have a new set ready to go on) The maintainer on the 86 was working but I fired that up as well just to hear the air cooled flat six. I really need to live in a warmer climate, I love the NYC area but winters just plain suck. Oh well...

POST 2Original post

Strange that yours is broken already, sorry to hear about that... I have an OEM maintainer and it's been 5 years now, still doing OK. The light usually turns on after each drive for a few hours and then it goes away. It's been doing that since I have a new battery. If there is no light and I want to check on the maintainer, I just need to open the door and it lights up, no problem. Cheers,

POST 3Original post

OT but how's the Cayenne doing, Marc? ...thinking about getting one...

POST 4Original post

That sucks! I'm in the airport heading back to north Carolina and hoping that my car will start tomorrow, considering that it has been sitting idle since Dec. 17th.... Keeping my fingers crossed.

All in all, pretty happy with the Cayenne, put around 12K miles on it in the short time I have had it. Taken it on some long trips. Great in the snow and handles more like a Sports sedan than an SUV. Dog fits in it, great kid hauler.
