My Dilemma is that if I go with an aftermarket system, I will have to change all the speakers/amps in the car which will also cost a lot of money.

Or you can replace the whole thing with a good, more flexable and expansive AM FM CD NAV DVD unit, for a few thousand.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
I want to install a nav system in my '03 4S. Since the car is equiped with the MOST BUS system, I cant just swap out the head unit. Ideally, I'd like to go with the OEM unit but $4K plus labor for a CD ROM based system doesnt seem worth it to me.
My Dilemma is that if I go with an aftermarket system, I will have to change all the speakers/amps in the car which will also cost a lot of money. Has anyone done a navi upgrade on a '02 and up model with the MOST bus ssytem?
TIA

You can find a stock porsche nav on ebay for a few hundred. Or you can replace the whole thing with a good, more flexable and expansive AM FM CD NAV DVD unit, for a few thousand. (doing everything from speakers and amp and head unit ). If you want a good system, start from scratch. You wont be tied into the Porsche bus.
I know that it's posted across multiple threads/forums, but MOST was fully integrated into 996s for MY03. Which of your P-cars did you perform the changeout upon Carbon, your MY02 or 04? Santicua has a MY03 and as such is facing a different (presently impossible?) task than you faced w/ your MY02 (if that is indeed the vehicle that you modified).

I just recently removed my Bose system to include the Nav and the CD changer. I am willing to sell it if you are interested. Send me an email if you interested. The complete system came out of my 2004 Anniversary Edition.

Assuming you have an '03+ C4S, I don't understand why you could not install the OEM NAV, since you can get it as an option when you purchase the car. Now how much it would cost is another question . . . .
