Hello fellow Porsche owners, I am the owner of a 1999 porsche 911 cabrio with 55k miles. I have just noticed that when my car is in neutral at a stop light my idle floats a little bit and sometimes it will shut off my car or stall while in neutral, please help!!! I hate taking this car to the dealer because they always make me write a big check..hahaha! Any suggestions would help, and if this has happened to anyone, what am i looking to pay for the fix?? Is it a TIP or 6 speed. Any check engine light? How is the idle when cold versus warm engine? What does your temp gauge show when this happens? Have you recently changed where you buy gas? Have you recently had sany service done on the car?

Wanted to tag along to the thread...as I too often experience funny idle behavoir, but the car has yet to stall. It happens at random times with no particular set of circumstances. Doesn't throw a cel.

Experienced the same thing, did not want to idle when coming to a stop, not every stop, just once in a while. Finally did get a CEL, MAF at fault. Check for inactive fault codes. Many threads posted on this.

I had a similar problem with 2000 996 6sp. It turned out (for me) it was a dirty throttle body and MAF. Good Luck
