0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
I suspect a Targa takes a special buyer (not as many) so your price seems very reasonable.
Leading evidence: 'targa takes a special buyer (not as many)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'targa takes a special buyer (not as many)' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

A friend has asked me to help him sell his 2002 Targa and I need help determining a fair price. It's a 6 speed, Arctic over black supple full leather. Has Advanced Technic, PSM, Sport Design wheels with colord crests. He bought it at Park Place Dallas with 6000 miles and now has 50K. The car is in excellent condition and was serviced at Park Place. RR quarter was repainted for a minor ding, but no other paint work. Better pics coming after detail. What do you guys thinnk it will go for? Thanks for your help.
The local Porsche dealer here in KC has a CPO 02 (or 03??) Targa for $49,900 with less than 10,000 miles. The ad in Autotrader did not have the Porsche CPO Warranty advertised but its on the car. I was looking for a 02 or higher 996 and would expect to see this car for mid/low 40's. A guy here in the area also had a Targa for upper/mid 30's about the same mileage but it was a little suspect...not my color either. For what its worth the 2001 car in my avatar has 10,500 miles, 2yr CPO Warranty, paid upper/mid 30's.
Good luck.
I have a friend that has been actively looking for 02-03 Targas with similar miles and options. He tells me that the going rate is around $31-35K.

I just looked up the '02 Targas for sale on Auto trader. Here is the report:
Range of prices within this search:
Highest Price:$54,995
Lowest Price:$34,900
Average Price:$42,866
The higher priced ones were generally lower miles, but several with similiar miles as the one I have were $40ish. By lookig at this, it seems like $38.5 is reasonable starting price. But, I just looked at completed auctions on ebay. None of the '02/'03 targas sold at all. Most got to mid 30's and stopped. It's a really great time to be a 996 buyer.
From someone who was recently in the market for over 6 months that car at that price would get my interest. I suspect a Targa takes a special buyer (not as many) so your price seems very reasonable. I looked at them but decided I would be happier long term in a coupe. I plan on keeping this car for a while.
Good luck and thats a good price in my opinion.
