Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, from Atlanta. I have been lurking on this forum for a while researching my next car. Got a company car late last year so I thought I would consolidate my P-car needs. So I spent the last few months selling off my SC race car, spare parts, and my C2 daily driver. I have owned half dozen air cooled 911's but I wanted to step up my next race car. In addition to being faster, the ABS will save me about 6 sets of tires a season, and a crate engine is half the cost of rebuilding a 3 liter. Well, at least that's the logic I used to convince my wife this car would save me money in the long run. This is what I found: 1999 Arctic Silver Aero 1200 miles on new engine Motorsport oil mods Race clutch Headers and custom exhaust Moton double adjustable club sport 996 GT3 Monoballs GT3 Springs, Control arms, tie rods, adjustable sway bars GT3 Shifter kit Matter roll cage Sparco carbon fiber driver seat Momo wheel with removable hub Many more things I couldn't begin to list here... Only things missing are LSD, GT3 wheels, and a Pista dash. Will probably invest in data aquisition first to help learn ho to drive this thing, and get in the rest later. See you all out there!

POST 2Original post

WELCOME ABOARD!! That's a damn nice looking car, and it sure is track ready....is it yours now? j

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Came to terms today, check will be cut tomorrow. It will take a couple of weeks to finish to to race trim. First event is a BMW school in March, and then the club race at the end of March.

POST 4Original post

OK that does it, I am putting 5 spokes on my car! Than an aero kit with taco wing. And enjoy drive to work everyday competing with a bunch of psychos driving mini vans, SUVs and rice burners Very nice car.

POST 5Original post

POST 7Original post

+1 Nice find on a properly setup car!! Nice...

POST 8Original post

New engine....great way to start off....most of the cars that have new engines don't have the intermediate shaft, porous cylinder or rms issues. Love the five spoke wheels and the way they go with that car. Congrats on a nice find. I've got a set of the five spoke with Michelin Sports on them that were on my 996 ....won't fit my TT but I wished they would.

POST 10Original post

Mark, welcome aboard and congratulations on a great looking car. I would love to see some interior pictures when you get a chance.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mark, The interior is the worst part for me, it is boxter red or something like that. Most of the work now is the saftey equipment inside, and a couple of other things like radio delete for control switches etc. Iguess i need one of those cosole delete thingies too. I'll get pics when it's done.

Misha, been around Rennlist for a long time. Just been slumming it in the old car section. Gotta question for everyone. What should I expect to pay for the transparent paint armor for the leading edge of the car. I'd like to keep it decent looking as long as I can.
