Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
If you got a decent late model video camera with the latest stabilization software it's pretty jittery free versus what I had before which looks like I ran thru the track during an earthquake.
Leading evidence: 'Use canon elura 50 in "vcr" mode' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run thru the track during an earthquake' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. It's pricey, but I use a Race Cam with a Sony GV-D900 VCR.

I am planning on using a power inverter for the camcorder so I won't have to worry about batteries anymore.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am looking to setup a video camera and mount. Anyone have any suggestions. Don't want to spend too much on this if poss.
Also how do you go about attaching the mount to the car so that it doesn't require damage to the interior while at the same time ensuring a tight but no jitter picture?
TIA

has a bunch of different mounts. One of them is bound to work. They also sell cameras {both NTSC and PAL}.
I use the suction cup mount. The one they sell has a little plunger that keeps the suction strong in all temps. You pump it up and forget about it.
I have a lot of their other mounts, so if you want me to try something out and let you know if it works on a 996, I'd be happy too.
It's pricey, but I use a Race Cam with a Sony GV-D900 VCR. Having the mechanism in a padded bag while the camera is rigidly mounted to the rollbar provides a very stable picture. And while it's larger than a "lipstick" camera, it is small enough to mount near my head so I get a near driver's eye view.
I have a harness mount on my 996 that I use to mount my video camera ordered from IOPORT.COM based in California. The harness bar is mounted to the top shoulder belt mount on each side and simply hookup the camera mount to it. If you got a decent late model video camera with the latest stabilization software it's pretty jittery free versus what I had before which looks like I ran thru the track during an earthquake. Suction cup mounts are not allowed in some racetracks(maybe all) but if you plan just regular street stuff that's fine. Also I like to ask-only problem is the sound with windows propped open makes for some nice windblowing noises-do I need an external mic and hook it up like near the exhaust pipe? Thanks. Mike
Here is my set-up:

Power adapter for Bullet Cam:

I use a Canon Elura 50 in "VCR" mode to record. The bullet cam is taped to my Tequipment rollbar, the mic under the seat (away from wind noise) and the Elura is in the arm rest compartment. The bullet cam comes w/ 25' of cable so you can mount it practically anywhere inside and outside of the car.
I am planning on using a power inverter for the camcorder so I won't have to worry about batteries anymore.
