Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
If the rear window is coming apart, the top will probly need to be replaced soon.
Leading evidence: 'Replace soon' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace soon' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looks like a great and informative message board! I currently own a 98 750iL and have enjoyed Roadfly for the past 4 years discussing mods, etc. and LOVE my car but have 'vert fever now and decided on a later model 996.
Found one locally here in Charlotte that I am very interested in: '01 C2 with 33k miles, great options (except for heated and full power seats, which I would like to have), but it has everything else I am looking for: wood package throughout, aero package, PSM.
A few questions to start off before I order the PPI and negotiate:
What is included in the "Advanced Technic Package"?
I don't like the color of the ragtop and the plastic window seems to be separating in the corner. I was wondering prices/options on replacing it and where I might get this done locally?
Options for aftermarket warranty?
What are the options for adding satellite radio in the "cubby hole" in the console?
How many miles are clutches typically good for with normal use?
I have attached the original sticker and a photo for reference.
Thanks for your help and look forward to being a part of this great board!
If you dig around on renntech they have the full order list for the '02 model. From memory, the advanced technic is something like bi-xenon, headlight washers, and multidisc CD.
Good question Rob...all the wood looked tight and factory (not like some add-ons you see)...the only problem with the wood was the piece right under the windshield that runs the length of the dash, was all cracking (which I thought was stupid to put real wood there anyway with all the heat and sun beating down on it!)
Wood was probly added on.
Adv tech pkg is bi xenon w headlight washer, hifi dsp (for 01), windstop, cd changer.
If the rear window is coming apart, the top will probly need to be replaced soon. You can get a GAHH top with glass rear window instead. It'll be about $3k to replace the whole top. A blue top should look great. Black is easier to live with though.
Thanks Dj....does it look like the factory wood package that was added on or could that not be done?
I was thinking black top personally...not into blue myself....thanks for the info!!!
I recently bought an 02 C2. I went with an aftermarket warranty through EasyCare - supposed to be solid and they're backed by GM so financially stable... I purchased the warranty through Hennesey Porsche outside of Atlanta.
The wood may have been added on. For MY01 it was a $7,790.00 option. What makes me think so is that I ordered my car with both full leather and wood. Because some of the items overlap the Exclusive program did some extra things in leather like the vents, rearview mirror controller, etc. I don't see that in the car you're looking at.
Here's how my '01 Cab looks with full wood and leather from the factory:
Rob, BEAUTIFUL interior! Love to get one with that color combo and options!
The airvents on this one are wood but not sure about the mirror control. So really not sure about the origin of this wood package....oh well, I think it looks great.
Thanks so much for the info!
I think I can get it for around $40-44K...haven't pulled the trigger yet though.
Yeah, I would like to have the heated seats, especially since this would be my daily driver. Been reading here about the mod to add, but might not be worth it. We'll see....
Thanks everyone for your comments!
